Just one week to go until our first triathlon of the season at Woking Triathlon!

This year marks our 10th year of organising triathlons at Woking Park and based on sign ups so far this will be the biggest since before Covid 🙌.

Early Bird Extended For Woking Triathlon.

I made a slight mistake on our last email and forgot to mention that the early bird discount for Woking Triathlon Spring Sprint was ending 31st January!

I’ve extended the price rise to midnight Sunday 4th Feb so if you want to commit to the event, enter now and get a discount.

This year is the 10th anniversary of Woking Triathlon and over the years we’ve accrued quite a few left over medals.

I want to know what you think.
For this special anniversary should we re-ribbon 10 years worth of left over medals and give people a chance to pick up one they may have missed or should we make a new 10 year anniversary medal.

Eton Dorney Family Triathlon
Quite possibly my favourite event of the year now putting fun and family into triathlon in a big way.

Not only is this event a IRC qualifier for South Central and London regions competitive athletes, it provides an opportunity for parents and kids to come together and have fun on a fantastic safe closed road course. Look at those smiles!

We’re holding two events at Woking Park in 2024, 14th of April and 15th of September. Be it your first triathlon in a while or ever it’s a great way to kick off your 2024 triathlon season.

Things are looking up for the long term survival of Woking’s Pool in the Park with the council putting forward new proposals to keep the venue open.

Entries will be opening soon for our 2024 events which are booked in for the 14th April and the 15th of September.

Woking Triathlon is not far off and is the perfect starting point for your triathlon journey if you’ve been thinking of giving it a go - a starter triathlon is quite literally how this event started.

Here’s some newbie FAQ’s we get:

Q. Is this event suitable for novices:
A. Yes very, and it’s not a silly question we get asked this a lot.

Q. Do I need a trisuit or can I get changed in the changing rooms?

A. Again good question. You don’t need a trisuit for your first but it does speed things up. If you’re not worried about your time there’s two other options people use. 1 you can layer over the top of a swim suit in transition. 2 you can use the changing rooms to change fully.

Q. Are there cut offs
A. No cut offs were here all morning take as long as you need.

Q. I’m worried about my swim time/distance
A. We’ve got two distance to choose from between sprint/supersprint and you’ll be swimming with people of the same ability so don’t worry. If you need to rest at the ends you can.

We’ve got just over one month to go until our final event of the year at Woking Triathlon!

Woking has a great variety of events to choose from with Sprint and super sprint triathlons, relays plus adult and kids aquathlons.

Plus once again this year we’ll also be hosting club relays!

A few years ago as I was pulling Castle to Coast together for the first time Ellie at asked if it might be possible to do a junior event at Dorney.

We agreed to work together to try and bring this opportunity forward as there was a shortage of opportunities for Juniors in the region.

With Castle to Coast being such a full on event she agreed to lead on delivery and it’s safe to say without Ellie there would be no event today.

This weekend it was great to see the results of this partnership, with so many adults, kids and even our own kids getting involved.

I owe a big thankyou to Ellie for her role in this event and would love it if everyone check out her next event in the Dinton Summer Series - now featuring a kids fun run!
