At the end of June, Rambalkoshe hosted its debut edition of “musæum” – a first in what became a series of projects – and tried to show the format we envision for a museum. Numbers-wise, more than three thousand people came in three days, which exceeds the number of Giotto Museum visitors in the last 10 years. If we put numbers aside, though, we’d say that we took people from vinyl sets to sculpting their heads off with plasticine, then to an exhibition, then back to a lecture, then to a cocktail with distilled thyme and rose lemonade, then to an exhibition again, then to films from a silent film festival, then to another exhibition, then a concert, then another vinyl set, and so on and so forth. And amid endless admiration, people were able to enjoy art and understand that it is boundless, and that a museum is actually an interesting space where you can live without rushing through life.

Rambalkoshe is going to present the most extraordinary event of the year, in terms of the venue and approach. First, let's talk about the venue: we've carefully selected one of Yerevan's hidden gems, a captivating hall that's likely unexplored by the majority.

This year, as Fritz Lang's iconic "Metropolis" enters the Public Domain, we're not simply screening the film in this "new" venue. Instead, we've gathered a remarkable lineup with daao, Artyom Manukyan, and Arman Mnatsakanyan, who will perform a live soundtrack to accompany this timeless silent movie. On top of all of this, an intro by Samvel Tadevosyan, outro by Kill NF and visual additions by Vahan Stepanyan as the film unfolds.

Now, about the approach: picture everything happening simultaneously in one hall: from the gripping movie screening to sipping on refreshing rose lemonade, and with the natural conversations among the guests becoming an organic soundtrack during moments of silence. An immersive experience like no other!

What is important about music? Music itself. And when music was being “invented” tens of thousands of years ago, there were no genres or instruments or topical and non-topical issues. There was just nature and music.

Rambalkoshe is going to have its spaceplace during the Sensor festival, where we are going to share some limitless music throughout the entire event – every minute of every hour. Therefore, the lineup we have gathered are people whose lives have been forever entwined with music, regardless of what they are doing now.

Besides, Rambalkoshe's spaceplace will host an exhibition of posters dedicated to the final years of the great composer Komitas – a.k.a. the founder of the Armenian national school of music – which is, after all, about music.

In addition to the music and the exhibition, the spaceplace is going to have its very own bar together with Ոչ լույս ոչ մութ, where you can drink everything that can’t be found in any of the bars across the festival.

You know The Unbearable Lightness of Being? Of course you do. So on the one hand everything is alive and is happening only once and because of that life is unbearably light. On the other hand, unbearable does not mean bad, nor is light necessarily synonymous with bad. Moreover, because our life is unrepeatable, every second of it becomes much more important and beautiful. And the same could go with The Unbearable Lightness of Being where everything that happens throughout life… anyway, you get the gist. This past midsummer, at the invitation of Rambalkoshe and Jägermeister, Denis Kaznacheev , daao and Ayvazovsky played here, and trying to describe in words how beautiful everything was is as pointless as trying to weigh the lightness of your being.

☀️🥚 This Sunday, in a couple of days, Rambalkoshe invites you to greet the autumn season with a Sunday breakfast. Lots of homemade eggs, greens, lavash, honey and cheese and of course, coffee corner by Ոչ լույս ոչ մութ which already became an essential part of the bar in the house. On top of all of this, for the first time - cocktails on the base of Fadre aged vodka, such as a rose lemonade with thyme vodka. Lucia Kagramanyan, who will play a special set for us throughout the day, could be a matter for a whole separate event, with her never-ending music. Lovely sunday in all of its shades! Does it even matter what the weather will be after all of this?

In 2021, Rambalkoshe held a residency program called "alamezon": the program included different events/screenings/workshops for the participants throughout 6 months. One part of that agenda, were films screenings at Rambalkoshe, where Karen Avetisyan, the art-director of Golden Apricot International Film Festival, was responsible for the choice of films and the founder of ZEAL Design Room, Վիլյամ Կարապետյան, was painting original posters for each screening event. The list of the films include pieces starting from Enter the Void and to Battle Royale, by directors such as Lawrence Kasdan, Yorgos Lanthimos and many more.

After the residency program was over, we decided that the posters deserve a separate exhibition: the exhibition coincided with this year’s Golden Apricot opening and became its unofficial opening exhibition, which the guests came to see after the official opening event. We had a blast when one of the main guests of the festival - the legendary Paul Schrader found a poster of one of his films - "Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters", signed and gifted it to us. ✨

Not too far in the past, the Coronavirus was the only problem of the world: after, came the vaccines and wars erupted. Meanwhile, there was a time when it was not allowed to go out of home, and people were buying toilet paper over anything (even though no one understood the reason behind it after all). Anyways, exactly at that period, Rambalkoshe offered 9 artists to picture their mood and situation in general on a.. toilet paper, while the toilet paper crisis hadn't come yet. Now we want to finally present you the whole series of artworks.

It’s so good that there are Powel and Argishti and Aydinyan, and there is Jellyfish Yerevan, making a great event and a beautiful day with whom has become a habit. The more we do it, the more we realize one thing: any event we do is just about gathering people together, in some sense without an occasion, just to see each other, talk on the most different topics, dance, and try to last that enjoyment for as long as possible. That’s why it’s so good that there are beautiful people who come to our events, and whose energy gives us potential to do more and more. 👀 More than a thousand of visitors in a place, which popped up and disappeared for just one day. ALLO - an experiment by Rambalkoshe and ATS to gather 24 visual artists and merge all of that with a live act and dj sets by 4 musical artists, ended up so good, that we could keep enjoying it for days.
