To DJ in the 80s or 90s
You had to arrive early, load equipment, know how to connect, know and do a whole like making your own advertising, stick it, self promote, perform basic works like sweeping your place where you are going to work, cleaning first of all cabin, clean the Appliances in general, give audio maintenance, lights, testing everything type.
Beginners always started from the basics, perhaps they had the opportunity charging, switching the lights, perhaps in the course of the night there would be an opportunity to put in one or two rolls depending on whether the stellar DJ went to the bathroom or gave them n the chance to open or close the event, so months passed until they got a chance...
The investment was strong not everyone could spend so much money on music, buy imported records in places like Zorba, disco sound, ger records or national commercial in discolandia, record fair, Wolf, Disco Son, independent records you, or maybe in the market black in some popular market...
You had to have courage, intelligence, be an authentic musical encyclopedia from memory to be able to please the whole audience. The forefathers of that time taught us a good taste in music, they taught us to really love it, they taught us how to have it as a priority, they taught us what to do with it in order to later learn how to manipulate it...
TODAY sadly the current pseudo dj has none of these characteristics, has no discipline, nor musical taste (that's why he dominates the regueton, EDC and the band)
Everybody play feel star with stolen music, now it's more important to succeed show face or body than show your music and talent. Now they get everything based on lambisconery, beard, crying, not through work..
I'm of the idea that the most beautiful things in this world are won with love to the job, with sacrifices, that's how real opportunities are manufactured..
Today they don't want to win things like this anymore, that's why anyone plays music without heart and without passion with any cheap technology, musical taste and without knowing the same...
The true DJ will always be hardworking, never stop investing, will always be at the forefront in music and handling all formats. True DJ is a virtuous knowledgeable musicologist with polite and fine tastes forever..
