We're looking for Vet Nurses to join our growing team of Wedding Sitters, meeting the following criteria is essential:
- Cert III in Animal Studies, Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, or equivalent
- Weekend availability (some weekday availability is highly regarded)
- Located in Greater Melbourne
- A reliable and safe car, big enough to transport large dogs when required
- The ability to petsit overnight in the couple's home (maximum 1 night)
- You're approachable with a confident demeanour and a positive, can-do attitude
- An interest in canine behaviour and ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- An excitement for weddings and all things love!

What a lovely surprise!

I have never asked for votes for anything like this, so it really is humbling to know that these have come straight from our couples themselves.

And a big thank you to my stellar team for providing a service like no other, always going above and beyond. We really do love what we do 💙💙

Whoever coined the saying ‘two’s company, three’s a crowd’ obviously didn’t have a dog! 🐶

Madison and Daniel tied the knot in November and the day was made even more perfect with Frankie in tow!

The fabulous Frankie was accompanied by Hannah & Karryn. At our meet and greet we discussed Frankie’s history of anxiety and reactivity and, as predicted, he was incredibly anxious on the big day. Even in a usually relaxed dog, this can be quite common when they are brought into a new and stimulating environment ie; a wedding!

This is why all our staff are trained professionals, who know exactly what to do in these circumstances! 👩‍⚕️

Some things we did to help Frankie through the day;
✅Used Adaptil spray on ourselves, in the car and on his harness. (Adaptil is a synthesized odorless spray that mimics a natural pheromone that dogs release, this provides comfort and security to dogs and also makes them feel relaxed and reassured in challenging situations.)
✅ Ensured he was wearing his Halti, which assisted in reducing his pulling and reactivity.
✅Had him greet the wedding guests as they arrived. This was to familiarise Frankie with who was around, which helped to settle his nerves and ensure he’d been exposed to a few scents at a time, instead of 100 people in one go!
✅Kept him at a distance from the formalities and any loud noises, helping to reduce his auditory input.
✅And of course, lots and lots of positive reinforcement and treats!!

Tex only has eyes for his parents Tara and Jon ❤️

We couldn’t be happier to be able chaperone Tex and watch these two tie the knot at the stunning Jack Rabbit Vineyard, it was perfect weather for a perfect couple.

Tex also had an extended stay at our friend and fellow vet nurse Simone’s house so the newlyweds could relax and know Tex is as getting too-notch care!

Haven’t posted on the grid for a little bit - and boy do I have a lot of posts to catch you up on!

Here’s the gorgeous Fergie & Alfie from this past weekend (as it was the most recent wedding in my photos album!) 💙

Fergie and Alfie did experience some anxieties on the day, but our amazing Hannah kept them cool, calm and collected (despite the heat!) Hannah is Fear Free Certified and will incorporate fear-free techniques with all dogs that she chaperones.

Just another reason why it’s important to trust the professionals 😉

Having a baby, moving house, growing the team to 7 staff members, and completing 102 weddings for the year - I am exhausted but so incredibly grateful for you; our couples, your doggies, our staff, our supporters, family and friends.

I wouldn’t be here today without your unwavering faith in this idea of mine that has grown beyond my wildest dreams 🥹

Think it’s all too hard to have your dog as your Ring Bearer? Think again! This is where we come in 😉

I present Kendra, Steven & Gregory 🐶

Greg is a very happy and excitable boy (our favourite!) which means we take extra special care and work on keeping them in a more calm and relaxed state around your guests.

👉🏻We learn what makes your dog tick (in this case it was Greg’s favourite toy we brought along on the day) and use aids such as a halti or front-clip harness to have a little more control and routinely use Adaptil, a calming pheromone, to reduce anxiety levels.

Greg did his job perfectly and was the star of the show! 🌟

Where are all the Border Collie lovers up in here!? 😍👋🏻

This is Ollie, Ollie has heterochromia (two different coloured eyes) which is caused due to the melanin pigment lacking in the iris, causing the iris to appear blue or blueish white. It doesn’t cause them any sight problems and is seen more commonly in Border Collies, Dalmatians, Dachshunds, Huskies and Great Danes. 👀

Ollie is also deaf, which means he has mastered all of his commands through signing - he’s a super clever boy! 🥰

Meet Chich! 🐶

When Carla contacted us wanting to involve her (very adorable) 20 week-old Groodle in her upcoming wedding day, I was pumped to say the least!

Hannah took Chich under her wing for the day, making sure his every whim was catered to - plenty of cuddles, treats, wee walks and time-out when things got too exciting for him - we were able to have him present both for some beautiful moments getting ready and at the ceremony itself. Doesn’t it just make you smile! 🥰
