Amazing work, a nationwide win for South Australian Sharna Greig.
The level of professionalism of our SA emerging leaders continues to showcase our effective service oriented business events industry in Adelaide to the nation.

ABEA is delighted to announce Sharna Greig of Business Events Adelaide as winner of the AIME Leaders Forum – Emerging Leaders Challenge.

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and ABEA invited Emerging Leaders to submit ideas on how the Business Events industry can attract and nurture talent.

On February 19, Sharna will present her winning submission to over 100 industry leaders and key stakeholders at the AIMEAsiaPacific Leaders Forum, where they will work to refine the Business Industry proposition around talent, government advocacy, sustainability and more.

Additionally, Sharna has been awarded a scholarship for ICCA’s Skills Certified International Convention Specialist.

ABEA and ICCA would like to extend our gratitude to all participants for their outstanding submissions.

Business Events Adelaide were so pleased to see our Kiwi friends on their side of the Tasman. Toumpas was busy catching up with old and new clients in Auckland both at the inaugural which took place at the Viaduct Events Centre as well as out and about visiting offices.

SA has long been seen as “choice” with Kiwis and we are now seeing increased popularity from corporate clients who are enjoying experiences including wineries, fast cars and festivals as part of their well deserved incentives.

Osteoarthritis may be reversible according to a new study from SAHMRI and The University of Adelaide, which blames a “gremlin” cell for the condition rather than wear and tear. 🦴

Researchers have reversed the condition in mice — and in more good news, human trials are already underway of a drug, based on hunches it may help with the condition without knowing exactly how and why.

We don’t usually share our members toilets, although I’m sure many are impressive. But considering this one is a bit of fun, why not.

At the d'Arenberg Cube, you'll find almost everything is out of the ordinary.
The toilets are designed like a big bunch of green grapes, with each pod containing a different cartoon representing the name of a d'Arenberg wine. 📸 (on Instagram)

We love this cheeky snap from the 2023 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition.

Photographer Asher Allison captured this candid moment of two eastern grey kangaroos play-fighting early in the morning, though one is clearly less committed to the process than the other (we can all relate).

‘Talk to the hand’ is a finalist in the ‘Animals in Nature’ category and the winners will be revealed on Thursday 24 August 2023.
