Just get started! Experiment with different techniques and textures until you find something you like. You can purchase a chunk of clay in our cafe and build something with your hands, we even supply a huge variety of tools to help. It’s the best way to get your hands dirty! 2. Try throwing a pot on a wheel! We promise it’s just as fun as it looks 😄. We run 3 x guided pottery wheel sessions for beginners every Saturday. At just $49 per head it’s a great way to give wheel throwing a try, and have a laugh while you’re at it.3. Embrace Imperfections. Don’t worry about making everything perfect, small imperfections add character and charm to your pottery and it’s what makes each piece so unique. Plus, once the glaze is on it’ll look like that little lump was ‘meant to be there’ 😉4. Experiment with paint and decorative touches! We have a range of tools you can use to add decorative touches & a variety of underglaze paints that can also be mixed to create any colour you like!5. Get your item glazed and kiln fired. This is a huge tip for anyone thinking of creating with clay! Air dried items are great and have their place, but you just can’t beat the quality and finish of a kiln-fired item! We run 2x kilns 24/ 7 to keep up with the demand from our customers. Did you know we run beginner’s Pottery Wheel Sessions every Saturday? We have 3 timeslots: 10am, 11.30am & 1pm. Our sessions are all about having fun and trying something different, absolutely no experience necessary! One of our fantastic instructors will be on hand to guide you every step of the way as we take you through the basics of wheel throwing.You’ll get two chunks of clay to try and kiln firing is optional.$49 per head without kiln firing, or $69 per head all inclusive. You can even come back to paint your item (like this customer has) once it’s been kiln fired at no additional charge! We supply aprons but also suggest wearing something other than your Sunday best!
