Solid advice!

Australia has some of the most magnificent and diverse landscapes in the world. But every year around 3000 people get lost and need rescuing. While not all of these are people out bush walking, there are dedicated teams in every state that spend their time rescuing people from hard to reach wilderne...

Somewhere right now all over Australia there are event organisers freaking out a little about an event they're hosting this weekend.

Organisers really are made of stern stuff. While the participants' primary concerns at a time like this are things like "have I tapered enough?", or "which bike should I use during the race?", or "where should I have my post-race coffee?" organisers are contemplating the more serious questions in life like "how did I end up in this situation?", or "if I caught a plane to Puerto Rico today how long would it be before I could return and people aren't mad at me anymore for not showing up to the event?", or "what are the legalities around me having a tipple during the event?"

Show our organisers some love in the comments! They never stop thinking about the experience they're going to offer; unless you've been an organiser before it's hard to comprehend how all-encompassing event organising can be.

Event waivers are a bit of an unknown to organisers and entrants alike. It is rare to hear of waivers being put to the test. But according to Maurice Blackburn Lawyers waivers are not necessarily airtight even when signed.

As an organiser how did you come up with the contents of your waiver? Have you ever had the unfortunate experience of having to contest a waiver, or as an organiser have you had a waiver hold up in court?

A great list of some champion 6 Day runners.

Minutes ago, Meg Eckert moved in to the #4 all-time position, passing Catherine Cunningham’s (AUS) 2001 performance at NY.

Team Eckert likely eyeing the 5th best all time mark set by Eleanor Robinson Adams in 1987. She will need to surpass 521.206 miles (828.8km)…. No easy task at this late stage.

Robinson (GBR) and Sandra Barwick (NZL) dominated the 6-Day in the late 80’s/ early 90’s.

40 years later, athletes like USA’s Camille Herron (6-Day World Record holder), Canada’s Viktoria Brown and Eckert have put a spotlight on the distance.
