Canadian Hip-Hop Legend Madchild Announces 2024 Australian and New Zealand Tour

Acclaimed rapper Madchild, a recipient of the prestigious Juno Award, has announced his triumphant return to Australia and New Zealand for early 2024. The Canadian emcee will embark on his biggest tour of the nation’s capitals yet. Madchild is no stranger to
Australian and New Zealand fans, as he has played to packed sold out tours as both a solo artist and with hip-hop trio Swollen Members, and he shot his iconic music video for "The Jackal", which has now surpassed 20 million views, in Melbourne.

Madchild hails from the golden era of hip-hop when he grew up working at Extra Large in Haight-Ashbury, a clothing store owned by the Beastie Boys. From there he sharpened his pen and was inducted into the Rock Steady Crew alongside Dilated Peoples. It all
attests to his powerful collaborations with industry heavyweights Jurassic 5, Talib Kweli, Nelly Furtardo and video director/comic book legend Todd McFarlane.

Madchild's trajectory in the hip-hop landscape over the past few years has been nothing short of remarkable. He joined forces with Tom MacDonald to birth the collaborative album "Killing The Neighbours," birthing chart-toppers "Bad News" and "Sober," both
commanding a spot on YouTube's trending page. Following this triumph, Madchild proceeded to captivate audiences with "Mobsters and Monsters," a collaborative masterpiece with the burgeoning San Diego emcee Obnoxious. The album bore witness
to Madchild's mastery of penmanship, paying homage to authentic hip-hop lyricism and accompanied by head-bobbing beats.
Earlier this year, Madchild collaborated with renowned multi-platinum producer and songwriter Michael Bradford on the track "Ya Don't Stop", which was selected by ESPN as a song of the month. The track was heard as a musical backdrop during the NBA
Finals to millions of viewers.

Madchild will be taking Australian artist ‘Kogz’ along for the entire tour after a stellar past few years on the local circuit proving himself one of the hottest prospects on stage and in the Australian music industry. Kogz is sure to expand his rapidly growing fanbase
alongside a legend of the game and debuting live in New Zealand with another force in the Australian hip-hop scene Fortay at Large also excitedly joining the New Zealand dates for his first time also.

We where a young team, myself as a young promoter but we pulled SA, Sydney off! Melbourne was 6000 people we had no control of liquor licensing - they ruined that....also the sound time cut off.....we did this at around 18....

We are now back 100% for charity starting small 1 show in SA for mental health and the ent industry....so just remember what this was like - look at the video/crowd and tell us we can't do this a decade on after more experience and a great team of advisors who won't steal this time.

We are building and have built an incredible team, including some industry veterans, the best promotional girls and guys out some amazing artists and some of Adelaide's best local artists so far. We are working on a date and we will make sure it is the BEST possible timing for all working against covid restrictions etc. with a backup.

All we ask is for support, likes & shares.

Announcements are not ready yet other than the team on the promoters page.

We are working on a couple of international acts - but cannot confirm them due to covid but we promise you one thing - a coming together to support MENTAL health and the ENTERTAINMENT industry. All profits go to this 100%.

South Australians it feels good to be back! Heatwave Festival is excited to announce we are partnering with Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide who kindly donated the venue for this noble cause and what an iconic venue to work alongside, with 90years of history, thousands of world-famous names have rocked their stage and without a doubt, it is Adelaide’s most prestigious live music venue.

Announcements will come as we gauge covid and our dates, so we can make the best possible decision with safety as well as fun in mind but we cannot wait to drop the BIG official day/night announcement and poster - soon!
