I've obviously been super absent on here whilst One of a Kind Weddings & Events has been inactive, and in between, I've had another bubba and am just all about the mum life 🤍 the time has finally come for me to move onto my next chapter and pass the reins on to the next planner for you to work with, who is new to the industry and going to learn the ropes. Today I sold OOAK, and I'd be lying if I said I didnt drive away today with a huge lump in my throat and so many mixed emotions🥰

When I started ooak, I had no idea that I would meet some of my lifelong friends, and fall so madly in love with an industry which through so many sleepless nights, working weekends, being away from my family and the usual blood sweat and tears, gave me so much.

I will be forever grateful to each and every one of my brides and grooms, who allowed me to play such a beautiful and important role in their big days. Their trust in me was a feeling which is honestly indescribable and I'll never forget you guys.
My fellow vendors whom I worked so closely with for years, thankyou. I will forever continue to recommend you, be your biggest fan girl, and show the most utmost love to each and every one of you.
To my grandma, mum and sister in law, who were my unpaid team, I will never have the words to say thankyou. You made everything amazing and I could not have gotten through, or done any of this without you.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou a million times for following my journey. You guys are simply, One of a Kind❤️

“Just be gentle on my heart” 😂😂

As of late, so many people have been asking what I’m doing with OOAK- and the answer is... I’m still undecided. I don’t want to sell to just anyone- I need someone to love it as much as I do, to have the passion to stand at a table for an hour and make it perfect- to coordinate a day, make timelines and schedules fit for the Queen of England. I can’t just hand it over to someone who isn’t going to love and nurture my baby as I have. So, I’m taking expressions of interest- I have a wedding in April where I can show you the ropes, show you the few days leading up to the wedding, to show you how to rock a schedule where your suppliers will rave and thank you for being so organised - I need to be picky, for my own peace of mind.

OOAK is a business where you can make as much or as little money as you choose. It’s in your own hands- you can carefully select which events you want to work on and take the jobs where you know in your heart that you will shine.

When you’ve been planning a wedding for over a year and have a cheeky 5 minutes spare with Jewel Chenoweth Photography to test the photo booth from Olympic Party Hire at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia while Kenny from Halo Entertainment- Adelaide makes his final checks before the Bride & Groom make their grand entrance after being married by Tenielle Nuske - Marriage Celebrant ready to throw their bouquet by and eat red velvet cake by Lyons Den Cakes 🙌🏼 phew... what a epic team of some of Adelaides best vendors!!

💕DIY BALLOON GARLAND🎈

SO ✋🏼 these balloon garlands are a MASSIVE trend at the moment, and super last minute I decided I wanted one for Blake’s naming day, so there was no other choice but to do a bit of DIY- I searched YouTube & of course Pinterest, tried a few methods (ie. fishing line - Which I found too hard!) and concluded that this was the easiest way (link below)

So I probably spent $20 on balloons from BIG W (pastel ones from Kmart Australia) bought cotton twine ($6), some clear sticky hanging hooks from Bunnings Warehouse Australia ($4) and well, I have to say I was pretty stoked with the result for a fraction of the price!

It looks complicated, not going to lie, your head and lungs won’t thank you for it if your like me and didn’t buy a balloon pump, not to mention your fingers from tying the balloons and twine, I have blisters🤣 BUT I look at this and see it was totally worth it & pretty damn cool for my first try!

Have a go! Try it out for yourself, and let me know what you think clever ones!

Ps. I also added heart shaped metallic balloons, but my darling niece loved the look of them and took them off before I got a photo😂🙌🏼💕 (lucky she’s so bloody cute!)

Yesterday I hosted what was my lowest key event EVER! My daughter Blake had her naming day, and when I say low key, I mean I bought ready made sandwhiches & wraps from Costco, wore no shoes all day, paid for my hair to be curled but put it up because it was too hot😂 and my family sat on a mixture of my dining room chairs, our bar stools and our outdoor furniture chairs 😂😂😂 if you’d have told me even 4 months ago that I would have had an event like this, firstly I would have dropped dead and secondly, I would have been annoyed at myself for not putting in so much effort. BUT, yesterday Blake was surrounded by her family on both sides, we were blessed with no rain (which if you know me, is a blessing for my own personal events!) and we all laughed and smiled and celebrated a beautiful life, (and I didn’t once look around and cringe that my family weren’t on matching chairs😂)

I DIY’d the crap out of the balloon garlands which I ended up loving sick (I’ll post the link in a separate post of which one I followed) I promise you the blisters on your fingers are 1000% worth it, the photos don’t do the end result justice! (thanks to my mama and husband for helping me blow them up🤣🤣)

Cake by Cakes By Abbi , who’s mama makes the most divine chocolate cake and Abbi who decorates the crap out of every single cake and gets super excited when you give her “free reign” of the cake. Love your work as always my love (I can assure you that it tastes just as amazing without the pregnancy cravings!)

Debbie Wood , thankyou for the most beautiful ceremony! Your voice is beautiful and you could be talking about rubbish in a dump yard, and everyone would still listen and be mesmerised by your beautiful and calm voice- thank you! xx
