As a little valentines day treat we thought it might be nice to do free engagement photoshoots with any wedding bookings made in February!
Engagement (or just couple shoots) are a fantastic way to get comfortable with your photographer and practice getting photos taken with your partner before the big day! (As well as giving you wedding invite/posting content🥰)

Couples like these two are honestly the reason I shoot weddings☺️
Hayley and Tim made me feel like a friend/guest on their day, they were really excited to get creative with their portraits and even ducked out of their reception to brave sand and sprinklers for nighttime photos! They, and all their family and friends, were so kind and full of love and it was such a beautiful day to capture because of that🥰

For those outside the industry who may not know, weddings pay less and are more high pressure than commercial work for photo/videographers, but when you have couples as wonderful, friendly and in love as these two, and you get to capture special moments for them that they'll treasure for a lifetime, it makes it the best job in the worlddd!

When people approach me to shoot their wedding, I always feel SO much pressure to make sure they don't regret trusting me with their day🙈

This means if I'm not super familiar with the location doing scouts and test shoots (huge thankyou to all my friends who step in to model for those🙏🏼), really familiarising myself with what each specific couple wants for their photos and what moments/people are most important to them!

It's a lot more effort but I never want to look at shooting weddings as just work/a job. Not to say that photographers who shoot 3-4 weddings a week aren't producing amazing work, but for me I find I do my best work when I'm really invested in the couple and have the time to know what is unique to them🥰
