Many people do not realise the struggle that businesses in the wedding and event industry are going through right now. This article is spot on. Many weddings from 2020 rescheduled to 2021 only to have lockdowns and strict restrictions destroy their new date. Some couples I know are up to their third change of date.

Many vendors refund deposits fully if they cant change dates with their clients but other vendors choose to keep deposits, which is their business choice, which puts a financial strain on the couple.

There is no financial rescue package for wedding couples, event planners and small businesses that lose income with every lockdown.
Thankfully we have ramped up our streaming services in the last year and that is growing.

When the atomic bomb of COVID-19 landed, there were few as close to the epicentre than the wedding and event industry.

Sadly here we are again in Queensland with closed borders to several states which in the wedding industry means some weddings cannot go ahead and for others family and loved ones can not be here. We can help with live streaming of three cameras to multiple platforms. We received a lovely review from a couple who booked us with two days notice when the borders were closed to family in Melbourne. The bride's father and grandmother were delighted to be able to be a part of the day in real time. We have limited dates left in the next four weeks so please don't leave it to the last minute.

We were honoured to be asked at last minute to stream a wedding on Sunday 30/05/21 as members of the bride's family could not get out of Melbourne and Grandma made it out but had to home quarantine on arrival to Brisbane. The bride's father was supposed to walk her down the aisle but he was stuck in Melbourne too.
As the reception venue was nearby we offered to stream the reception too but I needed help from the guests to get my equipment moved 100 metres. Set up in ample time and created a new zoom meeting and shared it around. The guests in Melbourne were delighted to be a part of the evening. With a little more notice we could have had her father read his speech via Zoom to the whole room. The bride tearfully thanked us in her speech for making the stream happen at short notice. This is why I love what I do.

I can't believe that I have not been to this venue in Brisbane before. Martyn Iles, the managing director spoke. He is very articulate and a great presenter

The first of possibly a few weddings with only 5 people during these unique times. I streamed one camera to family and friends. The photographer and I kept a specific distance away from the ceremony. I did apply for an exemption to the Queensland government for more than 5 people but it was rejected.

I always carry my tungsten lights with me to events. Often there is no stage lighting used. Here I set up my two lights and was limited to where they could go due to wheelchair access and not hitting the projection screen. One of the team that hired me said "that is overkill isn't" and two other members over-ruled and said "keep it. We love it. You are a consummate professional"

Nothing like driving 7 hours to Narrabri NSW for a wedding. This one was worth it. Great couple with two beautiful children already. Only drama was it was windier than any beach wedding I have done. As always there are solutions. Here is a little teaser from last Saturday's wedding with Cassie and Ben's wedding.
