3 SAVAGE TRUTHS NEW DJS NEED TO KNOW
(From a promoter POV)

1️⃣ Being a good person books more gigs than being a good DJ.

This industry is run by people and relationships matter. Skill gets you in the door, but attitude keeps you booked. There are an endless amount of “good DJs,” so that’s the bare minimum requirement. Make sure you are always respectful, reliable, supportive, and try to add value in any way you can. Promoters remember that. Support the event, show up early to support the other dis, talk to staff and punters, and never act like a diva!

2️⃣ Nobody cares about seeing another DJ who plays the same s**t as all the other DJS.. Figure out what makes you different!

You’ll never stand out by copying other DJs.. every great DJ has a signature sound, energy, brand, story or vibe. Find what makes you UNIQUE and double down on it 💯

3️⃣ Invest in your branding ‼️

Being a DJ is a business. No business succeeds without investment. Us promoters can’t sell you as a legitimate act if your only photo is you holding a fish on a boat LOL 🎣.

Logos, press shots, and content are the tools that make you marketable. If you won’t invest in yourself, don’t expect anyone else to 🫡

Being an event promoter comes with so many challenges and so much risk involved and there are so many hours of blood sweat and tears that go in behind the scenes but it is literally moments like these that make it so incredibly rewarding! 😍

XXL thanks to our amazing team and everyone who pulled up shoutout for smashing it!

It was literally a dream come true to see so much underground music played IN MONSOONS 🤯🤣 at our 360 boiler stage (CAN WE DO THAT AGAIN PLS 😍)

The core team hustled for almost 30 hours on the day for set up and pack down and nailed the theming 👌🏽 .know.neil and + our fav photographer , core djs .lawrence333 .thedj, dancers and everyone else who helped 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥵🥵
