Ok, are you ready for it? Here are my top three tips for tunes at your wedding ceremony 🎵

1. 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲! This could be through meaningful lyrics, a song from an artist you both love or a genre that holds significance for both of you.

2. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲! Pick music that matches the different parts of the ceremony. Eg. For the processional, you may want a softer, romantic song, whereas once you are declared MARRIED, go for an upbeat, happy tune to match the high vibes!

3. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤!
I can guarantee you signing will take more than a standard 3.5 minute song and no one likes to hear the same song looped over and over again!

This wedding was a special one!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Elissa and I go waaaayyy back to 2010, when we toured NSW in a kids show as dancing and singing dogs...(don’t ask 🙈🤣)
During the tour we became a tight-knit group for the month or so we were on the road.
We all became facebook friends afterwards and kept in touch that way, but it wasn’t until I received a message from Elissa over 10 years later saying she is engaged and would love me to be her celebrant, that we got to meet in person again! Even though so many years had passed, we instantly felt comfortable and seeing that Elissa had met and started a little family with the very laid-back and kind-hearted Ben was so nice to see.

It wasn’t just me and Elissa’s history that made this wedding so special, but also the presence and involvement of their two beautiful boys....more on that later. They deserve their own dedicated post!

Kayla + Rod 🤍 02.06.23

It was Kayla and Rod’s shared love for music that brought them together at a QLD music festival back in 2013. Kayla had just arrived home from a 3 month trip to the US and had every intention on planning her next holiday. But meeting Rod changed her life’s course…for the better!

10 years and two kids later, they tied the knot at the gorgeous , and what a beautiful winters day it was! Mother Nature turned it on for us and the vibes were high from moment the first guests arrived.

The ultimate compliment is when a fellow celebrant asks to officiate their own wedding! 💃

Amy and I met back in 2019 when we were both studying to become celebrants. When I first met Amy, I knew pretty early on that we’d be friends after the course had finished. We just clicked and I knew she was “my kind of person”. So when she reached out saying that she and Cam had got engaged and would love me to be their celebrant, I was over the moon, not to mention so honoured!

Being a part of Amy and Cameron’s special day was an absolute joy, especially as their daughter Holly got to witness her mummy and daddy say ‘I Do’. It was a beautiful celebration surrounded by their family and friends, filled with love, laughter, genuine happiness and unforgettable moments.

Like many modern couples, Emily and Stephen met online. After Stephen having been on lots of dud dates, he felt there weren’t many fish left in the sea. Just as he was about to give up hope, along came Emily!

These guys are the sweetest couple and we shared the sweetest ceremony back in April at Belgenny Farm.
The clouds were looking a bit scary prior to the ceremony but it cleared up and beautiful rainbow appeared just before we began! 🌈

Emily and Stephen engaged an epic team of vendors for their day - Matt on photos, Taz on video, Ben and Vee on tunes and me to get them hitched!

30 couples hitched.
25 venues visited.
3700 km’s travelled.
12 outfits worn.
March was the busiest month.
Smiles, happy tears and laughter shared - too many to count!

Thank you to each and every one of my couples for trusting in me, allowing me to get to know them as a couple and for inviting me to be a part of the biggest days of their lives! It’s not lost on me just how lucky I am to call this a “job”.

While it may have taken a few attempts it get the perfect shot 📸 it only took one go to get Kacie & Matt legally hitched!

What a beautiful day this was and a great way to kick of the busy month of April.

There were so many special touches in this ceremony and crafted to reflect Kacie and Matt as a couple and the things they hold dear to them.

One special moment that stands out was the butterfly release in memory of Matt’s Dad Michael.
While most of the butterflies flew off into the distance, there were a couple who thought a good place to land would be on the bridesmaids bouquets. They looked so beautiful amongst the flowers and stayed there the whole ceremony!

I got to marry these two cuties earlier this year, and what a gorgeous ceremony it was spent with their family, friends and their adorable staffy Rosa.

If you met Steph and Grant back when they were 13, sharing year 7 English class, you never would have guessed that they’d get married one day. Instead of doing his work, Grant spent class time kicking Steph’s chair, pulling her hair and shooting paper balls at her! Not the typical way to get a girls attention, but hey it must have worked!!

How special it was to have them tie the knot after being together for 10 years!

𝑰’𝑴 𝑩𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑨𝑪𝑲! 📣 💃

Officially back home from some much need time away with the fam after a busy wedding season.

Feeling relaxed, refreshed and so ready to take on the next half of 2023 and get back to delivering epic, heartfelt and down to earth ceremonies just like this one ☝️ (Jess & Matt, I love you guys 😉😘)

I have got 12 more loved up couples to hitch this year, with the first one back on 1st September.

Even though there are no weddings for me this August (which is so weird as I’m already booked out for August 2024 - who would’ve thought?! 🤷‍♀️) ,it will be filled with lots of script writing, couples meetings and admin!!!

𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘 ✔️

2 weeks, 3 locations, a couple of thousand km’s of travel and 15 people (incl 8 kids) on a caravanning trip to QLD - sounds relaxing right?! 🤪

I’m halfway through our family holiday and as chaotic as it has been at times, it has been so nice to switch off, live minimally and spend some true quality time with family during the quiet season.

I was asked in February if I could pull off a surprise wedding and get everything done in just over a month during the busiest month of the year?…𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐃 ✅

This one was an extra special one. Kaitlin is my good friends cousin and I had seen Kaitlin and met Adam for the first time just a few months prior, where they were yet to get engaged and telling me about their plans of having a baby.

Fast forward to Feb and Kaitlin tells me they want to get married at their engagement party and make it a surprise for everyone!…Not only this, she will also be 12 weeks pregnant, so wants announce this happy news during the ceremony.
My thoughts? 𝙃𝙀𝙇𝙇 𝙔𝙀𝘼𝙃! 𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣!

I love to get your family and friends sitting on opposite sides as to what is deemed “traditional” so when it comes time for you to face each other for your personal vows and exchanging rings, they can see your gorgeous faces!!!

YVANNA + MICHAEL 🤍 18.02.23

These two shared the most epic and personal wedding day back in February.

There were so many special elements that made up their day…Think a vintage wedding dress passed down from the brides mum with some new touches added, their two twin (and very cute!) daughters as their flower girls, an epic arvo storm and sharing the grounds with the resident lamas! All this surrounded by 90 of their favourite people 🥰

Yvanna and Michael have been together for a long time so they felt their wedding day was really about celebrating their love with their closest family and friends and having a bloody good time while they were at it!!

I’m one very happy celebrant after officiating and celebrating two beautiful weddings over the weekend.

Today marks 3 years as a registered marriage celebrant and I can honestly say that my gratitude for having this job only grows as time goes on!

I pinch myself everyday how lucky I am 💫

STEPH + RUSS 🤍 04.02.23

𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙣 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 … I posted a few pics of this glorious day!

I’ve been told that there is a running joke amoung Oatley locals that the pub doubles as a match making service, and this theory was proven true when Steph and Russ chose to be each other people!

These guys didn’t want to miss a moment of the party, so they opted to do a ‘first look’ and get their professional photos out of the way so they could grab a drink with their guests straight after the ceremony!

What I found so special about the day was that in our initial chat, they seemed way more keen for the reception than the ceremony (and fair enough!) but to see the love that was flowing out of them them during the ceremony (especially Russ - he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face!) was so rewarding!!

There were SO MANY dragonflies flying around on their day and a guest told me afterwards that they signify good luck. How cool is that?! Not that they need it!

Steph and Russ, I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness and don’t have too much fun in your long Mediterranean honeymoon! 😜
