I have a process, I leave the ceremony and submit the paperwork immediately!

Thankfully in Canberra, we can scan and email the paperwork directly to BDM Access Canberra before the ink is dry. ✍️

I receive a detailed reply “The marriage between Person A and Person B has been registered. A&B can now apply online for their registered marriage certificate by using the link below.”

Each State/Territory have different processes.

Marriage is about partnership between two consenting adults.
Why and who you marry should be respected and celebrated.

If you choose to marry your best friend because they are the ones you trust and care for the most, that to me comes under the seriousness of marriage.

People within the as*xual community are not a set label, their relationship orientation is fluid, you have your LGBTQI+’s and A’s that support each other. Some of those A’s are H’s - Hetros*xual.

As a marriage celebrant, I’m happy to chat with any couple who wish to make the partnership legal through marriage.
It is important to have the right to choose and build your life with the adult you care for and trust.

A Civil Celebrant and a Pastor walk into a wedding....

There is no punchline.

This is what tied together the most amazing marriage ceremony for the lovely couple that we conducted on Sunday, at the Australian National Botanic Gardens Canberra.

I love teaming up for a ceremony. Sometimes couples have a specific person they want to lead the personal format of their ceremony, the dilemma is that person is not registered to conduct a legal ceremony.

That’s where I come in.

I will officiate the legal requirements of the marriage ceremony and work beside a family friend or Pastor, in this case Pastor Edmund was both to the couple.

A marriage ceremony needs the Bride and Groom and two witnesses, downsizing your marriage ceremony allows for achievable spatial distancing. When this crisis passes you can have the wedding celebration with your family and friends.

Unless otherwise advise marriage ceremonies are still essential to those who believe in the seriousness of marriage.
