And that’s a wrap on our Spring season, but we will be back in a couple of months with Summer blooms.

Thank you to everyone who supported us over the last few months. The “yay” feeling when someone buys my flowers never gets old, it really means a lot.

So, what will the next couple of months in the patch look like?
- Pulling the ranunculus and poppies out
- Keeping the sweet peas going - short stems this year and frost dramas, but I do still love them.
- Moving the summer seedlings from the greenhouses to the raised beds
- Keeping a close eye on the dahlias to avoid last year’s problems
- Sowing more summer seeds
- Enjoying my non-cutting garden: my roses are starting to bud and I can’t wait to see my new David Austins’ first blooms. The lavender also desperately needs a trim and the back lawn could do with some serious TLC. There’s always something to do 👩🏻‍🌾

After a much-needed break, we’re back, and we have exciting news to share…

You can find us at the Molong Farmers Market in the Wildflower Cafe courtyard, this Saturday morning from 8-12! It will be our first proper market stall and we are both nervous and excited.

Saturday will be your last chance to get some of our ranunculus, as they are finishing for the season. We will also have our ever popular poppies like the ones pictured here, and a couple of other spring flowers sprinkled amongst the bunches.

Posies will be limited, so be sure to pop down early so you don’t miss out.

Our ranunculus are slowly coming to an end for the season, but I am still including them in mixed posies while they last.

The face behind the flowers.

Elizabeth, but you can call me Lizzie.
I’m not ‘Liz’.
30 (+ a couple) years old.
Mum. Wife. Friend. Primary Teacher. Flower Farmer.

Being pretty uncoordinated on the sporting field, and lacking the skill required for fine art, I found myself gardening in my early twenties as a hobby, something to take my mind off work at the end of the day, a healthy way to unwind.

I found great satisfaction in growing flowers and creating something beautiful to come home to each day.

Ten years later, I decided to try my hand at growing a cut flower patch and selling reasonably priced, locally grown bouquets.

With a little encouragement from some friends, in Autumn 2023, The Orchard Patch was born.

A year on, and with an expanded patch, I am so excited to share more flowers with you as we head into the warmer weather. I predict our Spring will be a relatively short season, but Summer should be a long one, full of gorgeous blooms.

Fairy floss, sorbet and ‘conversation heart’ lollies are what I think of when I look at the latest poppies from the patch bunched together; lots of sweet, feminine colours. I love them.
