A very big thank you to all our volunteers who have signed up again! It's going to be awesome!

We do have a few remaining jobs to fill.

Are you a foodie? Chef, Don Hancey will be cooking up a storm in the new Euroz Hartleys Pavillion and needs 2 workers to assist him for each day. The menu is excellent!

And we need some tech savvy crew to assist in out newly built ticket sheds to process Gate Sales.

So here are some excellent reasons as to why you should join our team.

Volunteering is not just about giving back to your community; it's an incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and make a positive impact.

1️. Build Friendships and Connections: Volunteering brings people together from all walks of life. You'll have the chance to meet like-minded individuals, forge new friendships, and create lasting connections.

2. Develop Skills and Experience: Volunteering offers a unique platform to develop new skills and gain valuable experience. Whether it's leadership, communication, or problem-solving, you'll enhance your abilities and broaden your horizons.

3. Try New Things: Stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things is an exciting part of volunteering. You'll have the chance to explore different roles and activities that you may have never considered before.

4. Add It to Your Resume: Volunteering is a fantastic addition to your resume. It showcases your dedication, commitment, and willingness to contribute to society. Employers value individuals who actively engage in their communities.

5. Helps Build Resilience and Resourcefulness: Volunteering often presents challenges and opportunities to problem-solve. It helps build resilience, adaptability, and resourcefulness, which are valuable qualities in all aspects of life.

6. It Makes You Feel Good: The joy and fulfilment that come from helping others are unparalleled. Volunteering boosts your mood, increases your sense of purpose, and leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

The old Ram Shed has been converted to our new Euroz Hartleys Pavilion which will house WA Produce, Wineries and Distillery exhibitors.

Thankyou to Jamie Newton and Phil Gerrard for the fantastic work you have both done to modernise and give the shed a new fresh look.

With this being a new venue, we are looking for a volunteer to Marshal this area so if you have a love of food and wine, please contact Wendy Flavel on 96311021 for a chat.

Also as part of our entertainment in the Euroz Hartleys Pavilion we will be hosting Don Hancey, WA's Food Ambassador to showcase WA's produce. He knows food production has a story and his mission is to tell it.

This week is National Volunteer Week!

It’s great to recognise the vital support that volunteers provide to their communities.

Our team would like to thank our volunteers for their dedication, time and energy.

Many of you that have attended the Field Days have no doubt visited the “Burger Bar”!

Meet Jamie.

Jamie has been volunteering for more than 30 years and his team of about 30 (all vollies!) have the Burger Bar operations down pat.

Burger Bar Fun Fact: more than 4,000 burgers are consumed over the two days of our event..!!

Don’t miss the profile piece in this week’s Countryman.

We support National Volunteers Week vision for volunteering to be at the heart of Australian communities.

Every year we will review what we do and why and how we do it. If it isn’t broken, we won’t change it, but we will try new things to make sure we maintain our position as one of Australia’s leading agricultural showcases.

That’s why “Safety First” is our second core value.

We behave with care to protect each other and our stakeholders.

Update on the exhibitor process and site plan:

Applications for our 2023 exhibitors will open next week on Wednesday 8 March and close 5pm AWST Friday 12 May.

Exhibitors information including a detailed manual, site maps and price list is available to view on our website - https://dowerinfielddays.smedia.com.au/exhibitor-information/

2023 will also see the beginning of infrastructure upgrades which affect the exhibitor zoning.

Public entrance Gates 1 and 3 will be redeveloped in time for the August event dates as well as general aesthetic updates to current permanent buildings.

The north west corner of the event site will transform and be the new home for the Merino Breeders Association and hub for corresponding wool and livestock products and services. A temporary marquee structure will be in place for 2023 with a new shed build to commence in October.

The existing Ram Shed will be refurbished and become a hub for Western Australian food and beverage producers and home to a secondary Food Junction, with outdoor seating and entertainment to boost capacity of offerings for our many valued visitors that attend.

Due to space constraints an overflow area for outdoor and leisure is now situated in the south east corner of the site.

The above new zones assist in grouping related products and services and expands our event site footprint, that will be the ongoing footprint for many years to come.

An overview of these updates will also be presented at our upcoming AGM on Wednesday 22 March.
