~Hey!~

In the last couple of days ive gained nearly 100 new followers
Which honestly has been so humbling

I thought id do a little introduction for those who have not yet ordered from me or dont know me personally and never met me
So you can see the person behind the name and know a little about them and the business your supporting

My Name is Abbie. I am 29 years old
A little backstory about myself
As a kid i can remember loving baking and cooking
As i got older i was able to explore into actual cake making, some of my first serious cakes being cake like my dads 50th cake which was a school bus to replicate the one he drove for work, at 17 i tried starting a little business but didnt have much luck, after a few years of major health issues and nearly losing my life , i was told to get away from Gluten and stop eating it or handling it- Yes im coeliac!

Essentially that caused me to give up

When i was 20 i decided to apply for culinary school for the second time since i was 18. The first time i was knocked back because “i want to make cakes” wasnt a reason to accept me.

This time round i got accepted and undertook my certificates in commercial cookery and patisserie. There was definitely doubt from me, my family and even my teachers as to how i would go when i couldnt eat the food due to allergies but im pretty sure my nose and sight and touch made up for what i couldnt taste because i passed and completed my qualifications

Fast forward to 2020 i was asked to make a cake and i said yes, i fell in love with it again and started “MadebyAbbieK” which then turn into more and more orders and request and led me to registering my kitchen and changing the name to what is now “bang’n bakes” i wanted something catchy

When im not making and baking i actually work full time, prior to this year i was a truck driver for 7 years and now work in mining and still get to spend time in my partners truck

Whilst trucking and baking three years ago i undertook my studies for Yoga teacher training and Certification in Nutrition as food and health is a big passion of mine and always has been

This year has been a bit of an adjustment for me as we moved from where i made a base and had to find my feet in a new area and new kitchen, i havent had alot of orders in my new area because of this but as theyve finally started to pick up ontop of my old areas orders, it did give me a chance to work on some things such as introducing workshops into the business and to find a new name which felt more like me , which you will see the name change rolling out of the next few weeks :)

I have two dogs, Sage and Kenny (My partner names after Kenworth)
I love sunflowers, dahlias and proteas
My favourite colour is turquoise and teal
I love earthy colour palettes

I like to think i am a very bubbly, energetic and outgoing person
I can be a bit opinionated and stubborn at times too but i care about others and am passionate and give 120% in life

As your cake designer, i have a creative mind and a very good imagination (sometimes it goes a bit wild)
I work hard to make your wants a reality and bring your dream ideas to life
I treat each and every single person who comes to me not as a client but as a friend, i value the people who trust in me and i see them as more then a “customer” and wanted to make the experience of ordering from me a pleasant one

It was so fun doing Nikkiss cake, she gave me 4 designs and we literally played cut and paste and 5 minutes later came up with a rough idea and this was the result
