Get to know a little bit about me… 👋🏼
Hi, my name’s Chevelle, but I prefer to be called Chev.
I’ve grown up in this region for most of my life, with the exception of state-hopping a few times to experience different parts of our beautiful country. I have a little bit of “neurospicy” flavour to me, and that’s what makes me, me and gives me the drive and passion to do what I do and love doing.
I’ve always been a big “foodie”, but my culinary journey has really taken form over the last few years. In 2022 I was awarded apprentice of the year for NSW & ACT.
The thing I love most about food is that it’s the one thing that brings everyone together, no matter the situation or the occasion – food really is its own love language.
I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 15 years, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world (crazy, I know!). I love being able to make food for everyone – it’s like serving people a hug on a plate. I always love learning more about the industry, experimenting, and playing around with different techniques. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I’ll keep changing my tactics and methods until they’re perfect!
When I’m not in the kitchen and have some time to myself, I enjoy spending it with my friends and family, my fiancé, and our two beautiful, full-on border collies (they’re my world). In summer, you’ll find me either at the river with the fur babies, having a BBQ in the backyard, or lazing around by someone’s pool. Come winter, you’ll find me running around on the hockey field, at my Pop’s for Sunday night roast, or curled up under a warm blanket watching a movie or reading (cookbooks, of course).
I’m so excited to step into this next venture of mine and can’t wait to see where it leads – hopefully to a lot of full and happy customers!
