Panel / Workshop Area at 11:30 AM: “The World of Competitive Cosplay” by Mangalphantom
Boasting five State titles for MNCC along with representing Australia in WCS 2023, his skills in skit writing, prop and weapon building and his penchant for creating giant and unconventional characters, mangalphantom is here to teach you about “The World of Competitive Cosplay”. Every cosplayer has the urge to test their skills on their cosplay journey, for fun, experience or a taste of glory. Learn from his stories and lessons accrued from years of competing and judging, what costumes work best? Which competitions should you enter? And what makes a winning skit?

Bringing along her wealth of knowledge in cosplay crafting, from armour, leatherwork and cosplay skits, to her multiple titles at MNCC, Australia’s representative for WCS multiple times and bringing home a silver medal for her talents in 2022, Artemis is here to teach you about cosplay armour. Come check out “Movement in Armour”, a fascinating panel about all things armour, whether you’ve never made any or need a hand to level up your skills, learn about patterning, making and attaching armour to ensure you can move to your fullest potential!

While many focus on the costume part of cosplay, Roulette is dedicated to uplifting the play aspect of the art form. Through her awarded expertise in sewing, needlework and embellishments, she aims to visually tell the story of a character through her cosplays. Learn from Roulette’s experience from her work as a production designer, and develop your own voice to tell your character’s stories at “Storytelling Through Cosplay/Character Design”.
