We are delighted to announce our lineup of stars for Opera in the Arboretum 2022! Featuring Soprano Jane Ede, Tenor Rosario La Spina, Baritone Jose Carbo and Soprano Clarissa Spata.

These stunning artists will perform arias and duets from La Boheme (Puccini) Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), Don Carlo (Verdi) along with much loved favourites such as The Pearl Fishers Duet and Libiamo.

Bring your chair and picnic for a beautiful afternoon of opera amongst the gum trees.

Opera in the Arboretum is a charity event proudly presented by the Rotary Club of Woy Woy.

Meet The Concertmaster: UNSW Orchestra’s concertmaster for 2020 is Anastasia Hibbard. Anastasia commenced her combined Bachelor of Music and Media Studies at UNSW in 2019.

"Music is a higher revelation than all Wisdom & Philosophy. Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise humanaity to the divine. The spoken word is ephemeral. The written word, eternal. A symphony, timeless.
When I hear Sebastien and Anastasia play I realise what exceptionally sensitive and gifted collaborators they are, and their rapport is obvious. Their passages of dialogue between cello and violin are wholly effortless – what a fabulous sound!, Their phrasing reveals impressive unanimity. Time and again, they seem to feed off one another, united in their pacing of the musical argument.
The intensity of musical and sound-effect narrative in the hands of these 2 extremely talented musicians is tautly wound.
I would add that as soloists I have not heard better but muse and poet best describe them together or apart. Listen to Saint-Saens (La) Muse et la Poete for violin, cello & orchestra and you will believe he had Sebastien and Anastasia in mind."
