This week at playgroup we explored some fruity scented playdough and practiced some chopping skills in the library.

We sometimes shorten our cozy wet weather days so that we can stay dry and comfortable.

Dreamy dolls, angels & little creatures were created by our little artists at playgroup today.

After bringing them to life with wood, felt and pipe cleaners they got to explore their new homes.

We wrapped up the session with beautiful hand printed bags for the mamas - Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday 🛍

Special thanks to for collecting the supplies & patiently running the station.

It was a Dreamy Tea Party last week with our lovely playgroup pals 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏽🫖☕️🫧💜💙

We had to snuggle at home with colds 🤧 but glad to see everyone had a tea-lightful time.

We are back for Term 2 of Playgroup 🤗 we finished of our last Air themed session using curriculum. We played with streamers, bubbles and attempted cloud mobiles.

The weather was a bit up and down so we finished our session off in the library reading books and singing 🎶

What’s on this month plus a little recap from last weeks watercolour activity 🎨

We made up a large sturdy moving box for the children to complete as a group activity. There were a few plain paper bags available for those who preferred a bit more solo crafting.

We set out an obstacle course to get our bodies moving then finished up with books and morning tea 🍉🍏🍊🍇

We had 20+ families join us again last Wednesday to start our rain maker craft, sing, read, explore and play in the water using the We Are Nature Network curriculum.

It’s been amazing to grow a community of likeminded families so quickly but 💔 that we are already full because I know how hard it is to find your tribe.

As promised, I will try to run a seasonal quarterly activity / get together and I hope this’ll be in the April school holidays.

We had a whopping 20 families today in the beautiful sunshine. We started with free play before coming together for our grounding breaths, welcome and monthly song.

Our themes today were shadows and feelings ✌🏼👹😛🥹🥵 the kids created their masterpieces and we shared fruit while our lovely nanna of the group read stories and sang. PSA 📣 bring nannas, partners and any helping hands along, they’re more than welcome 🤗

We are loving the curriculum and look forward to implementing the water theme next week 💦

11 families joined us for an overcast gardening and water play session today with a beautiful chill morning tea, story and songs ☀️👩🏼‍🌾 using the curriculum

We had a lovely morning with 10 playgroup families today from bubs to 4yo ☀️

We had our curriculum breathing, songs and sunny nature playdough followed by shared fruit and a book read by a beautiful nanna who will join us each week.

There was also lots of free play, exploring the new fort bases and activities for gross motor skills.

Hello, hej, ciao, we are back for Term 1 👋🏼 this year we are sharing our time between Kerry Street Playgroup and seasonal bush sessions at Booyeembara Park.

We are loving the curriculum and will be running the Sunbeams monthly theme for all of February ☀️ this gives us enough time to absorb the content and adjust to a playgroup setting. Each week I’ll upload our plan and a few happy snaps.

Today was beautiful with 12 playgroup families ranging from bubs to 4yo. Lots of families who’ve lived overseas and interstate looking to connect and have fun in the sun ☀️

We started the day with our mindful breathing and sunny sensory play jelly, water and sand. Parmelia Park was perfect for a casual start then next week we will be back at Kerry Street Wildspace.

“Thank you ladies for today’s beautiful circle and welcome to Brodie, it was lovely to have you among us today.

It was so amazing to have little Fuego with us and three little ones still inside their mama’s wombs.

We had a little gentle flowering tea ‘ceremony’ to start with and settle in mindfully.

Then we had our traditional sharing. I truly appreciate our circle for being such a safe and caring place for everyone to open up and say things that might not always be easy to share. Thank you for holding the space for everyone.

We also gave blessings to Shonali 🤎. Vicki will set up a meal train for her so hopefully some of will be able to help out when the little one decides to come to our side of life.

Thank you to all the lovely mamas and kiddies for coming along this morning to get messy and paint pumpkins 🎃🎨👩‍🎨

I had a lovely chat with 4yo Violette who’s recently become a big sister and very smitten with little Margot, however, was quite disappointed that mum isn’t ready to give her a baby brother right now. Poor mum 😂😂 I feel like getting out of the house some days is an achievement!!

Peekaboo 🫣 we’re back and can’t wait to see you all for our nature playgroup starting next week. Our group is by donation but we recommend $10 per family, if you can, for this spooky activity 🧡🤎🖤

We had an extra special River Women Mama Circle last week sending blessings to mama Vicky and baby Fuego 🔥

After our group meditation and check in we all snacked on some nourishing treats before moving onto a beautiful craft. We watercoloured birth affirmations for Vicky and intend to continue sharing throughout our circle. She was already on the same page and had purchased a stunning mother earth Gaia beeswax statue to offer in as well.

We wrapped up the afternoon using a non transitional blue thread to symbolically bind everyone together with their maternal lines and send wishes to Vicky and Fuego. Traditionally, a red thread is wound around each person’s wrist and tied to symbolically bind everyone together, it signifies the umbilical cord and the consciousness that we are all one.

Are there any special activities or topics you would be interested in leading or being involved with? While our circle has been meeting for over a year we always welcome new mamas, even if you can’t come regularly, it’s so nice to connect and be heard 🤎

Our Community Playgroup

🌸🦋☀️🌈🍃🐠🦆

A nourishing nature playgroup where we explore, play, learn, craft and grow together as mamas, as families, and as a community every Wednesday during the school term. Search Kerry Street Playgroup or the Playgroup WA website to join us.

During school holidays we will offer a seasonal based semi-structured activity appropriate from newborn to around 5yo that will aim to uplift the mind, body and soul.

You can expect arts and craft, sensory play and music. Be prepared to get messy and have fun. We often do special events which include dancing, yoga, making food and sound healing.

All quarterly events are not-for-profit and any surplus funds are invested back into our activities. The weekly playgroup is registered through Playgroup WA.

✨ DIY Dreamcatchers ✨

We are making rustic dreamcatchers tomorrow in North Freo from 9.30-11.15ish. If you’d like a smaller craft I’ve also purchased some key rings.

As always, we will have music, mama snacks, activities for the babes and a flexible start and finish. I recommend arriving by 10 but you can always take your craft home to finish.

I’ve purchased 6 solid hoops for those who prefer a more structured look and they will be on a “first come first served” basis unless you already have a ticket. I’ll add a link in comments. It’s $18 online and $20 cash or EFT on the door.

I’m so glad I jumped into this last minute. Such a beautiful vision come to life 🤍 if you’re looking for family photos or even just want to update your LinkedIn profile with something a bit more professional check out Starbright Wonderland. I noticed that she really pays attention to all the details and angles to get the most flattering shot. Can’t wait to see the rest!!

On Sunday evening I had the absolute pleasure to photograph these 6 incredible, vibrant and absolutely lovely breastfeeding mothers in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2022.

Myself and my dear friend Kerry pulled this together right at the last minute amongst the dramas of covid and severe wether warnings - but it was such a lovely, chilled out evening. I am so glad I met all these women and their adorable children.

For this shoot we wanted it to be very Perth, hence why we chose this location with such a gorgeous cityscape background, but nestled comfortably in nature.

Thank you ladies, it is an honour to photograph such a precious part of your parenting journey ###

🤎 Where you can catch up with friends without worrying that your toddler is going to destroy their house/cafe

🤎 An enclosed space, still great for “runners” but enough room to play

🤎 Somewhere dry to meet old and new faces when you don’t have the energy for puddles

Happiest of hump days 🐫🤎

How is your week going? We had the most beautiful time on Monday thanks to the very talented Chad and a few extra treats plus delicious rumichai - lots of happy snaps below 👇

We are so lucky to have a spacious gated venue for everyone to enjoy. It gives me anxiety being crammed in so I absolutely love this space! Lots of room for prams, an adjoining large hall if you want to break away and of course the garden playground.

I’m looking forward to getting our creative hats on the next couple of weeks then I’d be keen to do either some drumming/dancing/rhythm type activity or learn more about something that can help us daily - natural first aid, babies/toddler food ideas…
