We couldn't be more happy with the ceremony video we received from WGM Wedding Videographers. Neil captured our ceremony beautifully and even worked some editing magic to smooth out an unhappy toddler! We got in touch with Neil at the very last minute to shoot our ceremony when a close family member wasn't going to be able to attend, and he couldn't have been more accommodating or easier to book even with such short notice. We also received the video in record time, and will have beautiful memories to share with our family and relive for years to come.

MOTHERS OF THE BRIDE at Weddings.
A Beautiful Bride is always the Princess of the Day.
However, the Queen of the Day is traditionally in the background.
While the Father of the bride attends to all things associated with his daughter getting married.
Walk down the Aisle.
Main Speech at the Reception.
Father/Daughter Dance
Mothers sit back, out of sight, quietly making sure everything goes to plan.

Well now we are well into 30 + years of filming weddings. I wanted to pass on moments we have witnessed where Mothers are not only acknowledged or recognised. But have become a huge part of the wedding day.

1/ Both Mother of Bride & Groom hold their childs wedding rings. At the moment of the ring exchange, the celebrant invites both Mothers to approach each others child and present the ring of the Bride to the Groom and the Ring of the Groom to the Bride. This is a very touching moment as both Mothers are showing their blessing to each others child for this union to take place.

2/ Similar to above, But with the printed personal vow cards. Each mother presents these vow cards to their Son or Daughter indicating they have read these vows and approve of them.

3/ Mother joins the Father for the Aisle Walk. They are then met by the Mother & Father of the Groom at the end of the Aisle. Then both Fathers es**rt the Bride the final steps and place their respective childs hands into each others to indicate the moment of "It's Your Time"

4/ Bouquet Toss. A traditionally fun moment where the Ladies fight over catching a thrown bouquet which in most cases ends up with the bouquet being destroyed. But this one time we witnessed the Bride stand up , Made a very short speech of 2 sentances about her Mother. And proceeded to pass the Bouquet to her mother. Admittedly, this was quite a emotional moment as the Brides Father had passed away previously and a Medallion which included the Fathers photo was attached to the Bouquet. The Bride simply said. "Mum, Now you are both together celebrating my wedding".
Que the Tissues.

5/ The Father/Daughter Dance. First Dance
There have been a few times I witnessed this next moment.
Bride & Groom prepare for their Fist Dance only to invite both sets of parents to the dance floor first. The bride grabs the microphone and simply says. I want you all to witness OUR FUTURE. As the Parents danced in front of the Bride & Groom.

6/ A reverse Father/Daughter dance.
This is my favourite. And we call it "The Last Hand Over"
The bride dances with her Father first while the Groom patiently waits on the edge of the dance floor. As the Father & Daughter come to the end of their dance. The Father turns to the Groom. The Groom enters the dance floor and the Father places his Daughters hand in the Grooms Hand and simply says. "Your Life Together Begins Now"

As the end of 2025 will see our retirement as full time Wedding Videographers. I plan on creating posts, just like this one. Detailing experiences, both Good & Bad during our 30+ years capturing weddings.
Who knows, Maybe our experiences can assist other couples.

WHAT A HONOUR.
I was asked by Channel 9 if I would live stream cross the dawn service this morning.
And to see that channel 9 cut to us 7 times during their nationwide coverage was so good to see.
Yes, I was paid for the live stream
However, I requested my payment to be directed to Legacy Australia.
So much pride was on display this morning.

Ok. We have all done it.
Yes, lost our Wallet or Purse.
Experienced the frustration of having to replace all cards & license and remembering everything you had in your wallet.

Recently I filmed a wedding in Bathurst.
Had a great day & night capturing a beautiful couple.
But next morning I realized.
Oh oh. Ive lost my wallet

Retracing my movements in my mind, trying to think of where I could have misplaced it.

So I get back home and start the painful process of having to contact my bank. Service NSW etc etc.
Resigned to never seeing my cash again.

BAM, Friday morning and a small parcel is left in my mailbox.
im thinking. oh s**t, what did the wifey buy again.
Only to find upon opening it was my wallet. completely in tact with the $450 cash still inside it and a small note from a wedding guest saying Her young son found my wallet outside the venue.
No names, no addresses.
I really want to give this young boy a reward.
No, not for finding my wallet.
But for his honesty.
Something, this world has lost and we never expect to experience again.
What a incredible young man.
Thank you for not only returning my wallet.
But restoring what little faith I still had in todays humans.

Generational Wedding Videography.

In December of 1999, We were invited to capture the wedding of Rachel & David in Port Stephens.

Fast forward to May of 2024 and we are now about to head to Darwin to captured the Wedding of Brianna & Daniel.

Ok, so no big deal right?

However, Brianna is the Daughter of Rachel & David.
Rachel was 5 months pregnant with Brianna.

Like many of our past clients, we stay in touch, but over time contact is lost. This happened with Rachel & David.
Lost contact and had not heard from then in over 20 years.
That was until 3 weeks ago.
My phone rang. I answered. And wouldn't you know it.
It was Rachel wanting me to fly to Darwin to capture her Daughters Wedding.

Such a humbling feeling having a Previous Bride, Now mother wanting us to capture her Daughters Wedding.
I feel so honored. to be perfectly honest.

And the chosen Venue. So looking forward to this.

WGM wedding videographers have been amazing to deal with , from the very first contact until we had our videos back ( witch was so quickly 1 been not even 24 hr after our wedding.)

Why is the decision to retire after 2025 been so hard for us?
After 3 decades of filming weddings. Seeing constant love everyday is not something that can just be turned off like a tap.

It is comments like these that has us second guessing our retirement.

Feel so blessed to have been a part of so many couples special day.
Maybe we should continue.

Neil did an amazing job live-streaming our wedding to my relatives overseas. His capturing of video and audio of the event was outstanding. He fought through the difficulties of Telstra doing work on the network, and produced an excellent product.

Whenever I see this at a wedding, it gets my heart racing.
To see from behind the camera 2 Grand Ladies participating in a wedding.
Something to consider when planning your Wedding Day.
Nothing makers your Grandmothers prouder than to be a part of your Wedding Day as the Flower Girls.
They talk about it all night and to anyone who will listen.
Don't think they just want to Sit & Watch you walk down the aisle.
Oh No, They want a part of this special day.

We got married on the 21.10.2023 and we had Neil as our wedding videographer and have absolutely no regrets in the decision to have videography. Neil was extremely responsive throughout the whole planning process, easy to communicate with, and was fantastic on the day. We have been so fortunate to work with so many of Wagga's Finest Wedding Celebrants.
While I will not name any particular celebrants.
I can only say Couples planning their wedding are so blessed to have such a vast choice.
Wedding Celebrants are the starting fabric of your Wedding Day.
It is good to take your time when choosing a Celebrant. Don't Rush.
