My 4-year-old jumps on her balance bike and zooms between the front door and garage every time we leave the house, then hops back on and zooms back when we get home again. Every single time. ⁠

There's also the lip kisses she gives me and the leaping off from chairs, expecting me to catch her. They're so her, right now. That personality and exuberance that bursts out of her little 4-year-old body. ⁠

But I know, one day she just... won't. ⁠

She'll be 5 and then 6 and there'll be new wonderful habits and quirks, but I'm sure going to miss these.⁠

It's 2020, we're in the midst of lockdown, we live on a dirt road with no pedestrian traffic and my daughter wanted to have a lemonade stand. She was three and would NOT be persuaded, so we made it happen. Her joy is not something I'm going to forget anytime soon. ⁠
