It was my first time trying mulhoe( cold sashimi soup) with a touch of doenjang (Korean fermented soybean).
That deep umami, mellow and quietly rich, stayed with me long after the meal.
On a hot summer day, nothing could have been more perfect.

After finishing the maesil wine-making event at Pllumom Cattle Station, we ended up at an old market eatery tucked into a quiet corner.
This bowl wasn’t just delicious but also it felt like a farewell gift, shared with those I had spent such a meaningful time with.

These are the kinds of moments that remind me why I cook.
Because food, at its best, isn’t just about flavour. It’s about feeling.

I arrived yesterday evening at Fullomann Cattle Station, Korea’s top Hanwoo beef farm, for their annual maesil wine making event.
I was here last year and never forgot the warm conversations, the maesil wine, and that unforgettable Hanwoo.
After another beautiful dinner with perfectly grilled beef and maesil wine, I knew what I wanted to serve the next morning.
So I got up early and made Aussie style egg benny for breakfast, the way I know best.
Even here, far from home, cooking for others with heart always feels right.

Back in Korea, and it always starts with home-cooked food.

I’ve been learning again from my mum, her way of cooking, her hands, her flavour.
We’ve been visiting local markets, picking what’s in season, cooking together or having it brought home.
