For years, we've hoped to make it to the and we finally made it happen! We've enjoyed some amazing garden designs today and are excited to explore the floral displays tomorrow. Our husbands should just be thankful for quarantine restrictions 🪴 😂

Let's call it "Flash Back Friday" just so we can share some of past weddings that deserve another round of airtime! 😍

We are about to head into our 7th wedding season as "MEKA" so we thought we would share 7 fun facts about ourselves as we don't often share much about us 😀
1. Our business name "MEKA" is a combination of the starts of our first names - Meg & Kat incase you hadnt picked up on that 🙃
2. We are going into our 12th and 13th years of floristry, the profession which bought us both together as best buds and now business partners.
3. We met at TAFE completing our floristry apprenticeships (YES it's an apprenticeship) we worked together at a few retail florists before deciding to create MEKA to accommodate our young families and the want for a flexible home-based job still doing what we loved.
4. We were bridesmaids in each other's weddings and of course did each other's wedding flowers 😍
5.Our favorite flowers are orchids and roses, and we LOVE when our clients want BRIGHT and COLOURFUL wedding flowers! Tulips are our least favorite as they continue growing once cut and never stay where you put them!
6.We are lovers of indoor plants and between the 2 of us have close to 70... 😅
7. We are a family business; we work from a home studio. The kids tag along (5 kids under the age of 10) they sweep the shed floor and help fill buckets with water, the husbands are the engineers and the brawn we sometimes need 😉They deliver bouquets and lots of hot cuppas to the shed on late nights.🥰

Vibrant, Bold, and colourful are our favorite kinds of descriptive words on a bouquet/ wedding brief! Bright colours always make for magnificent photos as well! Hoping to see a lot more vibrancy in the coming wedding season. We also feel like the whimsical, foraged, wildflower bouquets/ aesthetic will be featuring strongly again this season 😍

Currently in the NT on holiday, enjoying all the beautiful tropical plants and flowers these guys take for granted. I could only dream of some of these growing in my own garden
