This workshop begins with the foundation behaviours to start out on the right foot with positive reinforcement, focusing on calm, gentle manners around food. These foundations introduce the horse to how to "Chillax", along with targets and mats, and the handler to different methods to create and shape all kinds behaviours from cute tricks to participating willingly in husbandry and veterinary care. There will be a combination of one on one lessons for participants and honing our observational skills on calming and self soothing signals.

Did you know that giving your horse the choice to say "no" to what you ask can actually increase the chance of them willingly and enthusiastically saying "Yes!"? Effective use of positive reinforcement can not just refine aids and communication but helps overcomes fears and creates an amazing partnership with your horse. Positive reinforcement, also known as clicker training, extremely versatile and can be used for anything from trick training to overcoming phobias.
