The BOOMBox Events FReeZA Committee are at it again: our latest event is the Winter Solstice Party, which is a UV dance party for 13 to 18 year olds with a connection to Bayside (live, work, school/study). See details in the link 😊

St Kilda Festival returns with two days of summer fun and the ultimate celebration of Australian music! 🌞 🎶
An incredible line-up of First Nations artists will present a jam-packed day and night of music for First Peoples First on Saturday 17 February. 🎉
On Sunday 18 February, the much-loved Big Festival Sunday brings eight stages of music, plus entertainment, market stalls and more to St Kilda's stunning foreshore and surrounds. 💃🏾

Bayside's own FReeZA committee - BoomBOX Events along with 3 other council FReeZA committees, will be managing the Youth Stage at O'Donnell Gardens on Sunday 18 February 🎸🎹🥁

FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, smoke and alcohol-free music and cultural events for other young people.

Ready your cameras Bayside, we are looking for your candid snaps of connection based on our six themes.

Colour - use the breadth of the rainbow to express yourself
Black and white - keep it dark as night or bright and white to portray meaning
Movement - capture a moment of gripping action
Pet portrait - make your much loved pet a starring subject
Editorial - your snaps using digital edits destined for the front pages
Landscape - show us your favourite skyline or natural vista
The Boombox Events FReeZA committee will be the judges for this exhibition with winners for each category.

We welcome young photographers, new or experienced, to submit one photograph per category, but you should know you can only win once!

This is a free competition open to young people aged 10-25 with a connection to Bayside.

Based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer, Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions will be reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne from 11:59pm Wednesday 8 July. This advice applies to Bayside.

As of Midnight tonight, there are again only four reasons to leave your home:

🛒 Shopping for food and essential items.
🏥 Care and caregiving.
🏃‍♀️ Daily exercise.
👨‍💻Work and study – (if you can’t do it from home).

If you can stay home, you must stay home 🏠

We will provide an update on Council services, including libraries, soon.

"My favourite part of the exhibition was seeing all the amazing art that other kids in Bayside had been creating, and reading the concepts behind their work

Winning the exhibition was a really exciting experience for me, and it gave me more confidence in my ability as an artist.

I am inspired to be an artist because I think that art gives us a release from everyday events, and the opportunity to be creative, which is not something we always get."
