Our Story

SQ Entertainment formed under a Partnership in 2012 and then turned into an incorporated company by the Managing Partner, held by me, and now sole Owner and Director. The idea came about in the early 2010s when Kpop was not as well known as it is now. There were little if any, platforms for Kpop enthusiasts to gather and perform or just to enjoy the company of other like-minded fans. Kwave was born. The first of its kind that saw the support of tens of thousands and was graced by Simon and Martina (Eat Your Kimchi) as well as Eric Nam and Miryo from the Brown Eyed Girls.

The company was formed and supported by volunteers who had the passion to do so. The reward, financially, was very little. Given we were all in our early 20s and after 3 years, some of us moved on to focus on our day job, the company dissolved and went on 'hiatus' so to speak.

Half a decade later, the team still comes together for Christmas every year and celebrates each members' milestones because we were much more than just colleagues, it felt like time to give SQ Entertainment another shot and expand what we do. With the experiences obtained in our earlier years and new skills learned throughout our time away, we are confident this time around we can bring our audience a better experience. Our existence was born out of a passion for the events we do and so we continue to go down that path of looking for gaps in the community, the industry and move into that direction.

Our focus as of this rebirth will be on the dance community, KPOP community and finally, the LGBTQ community because we all know MoonSun is real ;)
