Live in the Saddle is an organic, grassroots and highly collaborative community musical project running since 2011. Originating in the humble music basement of my old home, The Saddle, as it is affectionately known, covers entire albums from start to finish and has involved 140 musicians and artists across 16 shows. The Saddle is an inclusive playground for talented musicians and artists to gather

and generously share the gift of music with everyone who crosses its path. Everyone gives to the other and for the good and joy of the collective.

Do you want the good news or bad news first?!

Bad news: Brother to the Birds has sadly had to decline (but fear not, their album launch in November is going to be nothing short of sa-pecial!)

Good news: Melbourne based singer-songwriter, Abrahm Gunn (aka. Marcus Arch) will be supporting The Brilliance alongside long-time musical accomplice, Belleune.

After several years with the Indie-rock band Marcus Arch, Abrahm Gunn continues delivering melancholic yet hopeful stories through the art of songs. Abrahm’s lyrics and melodies offer thoughtful reflections on the tangible and intangible aspects of our human experience. Drawing on a range of musical styles and themes, his music offers both newness and nostalgia, acknowledging where we’ve been and where we might be heading.

The Brilliance creates art that inspires empathy. Their acoustic-electronic, symphonic-pop songs invite you to step outside yourself; to see the world through the eyes of the other, the stranger, those you may consider your enemy. From EDM anthems to classical piano solos injected with jazz harmony, their sound spans too many genres to count - but it all works together to create an environment for self-reflection and hope for peace Childhood friends in Wisconsin, Gungor and Arndt create at a distance - between Marshfield and New York - and their albums regularly feature guest cellists, singers, rappers and full orchestras. "It's a community. You might not know anyone there but in fact you've already got a connection, which is that you want to join the choir, you want to sing, you have a similar interest in music."

Melbourne Indie Voices choir has grown from several people rehearsing in a lounge room to 400 members in just a few years, and the group is ready for its first post-lockdown performance.
