Anyone who intends to go to Adelaide in November for the National Weekender and wishes to be considered for a DJ spot, please send me a message as I've been asked to coordinate the nominations at state level. I will send all names put forward directly to the organisers.

I have the job of coordinating the DJ roster for the weekender. As is the way with the Nash, this is a nomination system. If you would like to be considered for a slot please contact your local rep. The local reps will be nominating DJs. The local reps are Allan Taylor WA, Juck Roche VIC, Michael Micallef NSW/ACT, Gary Williamson QLD and Netti Page New Zealand.
All SA based DJs please message me directly.
We have one room at all venues, and so there will not be room for everyone.

Next April marks the 20th anniversary of Soul In The City Brisbane. I'm looking to put on something special for this maybe a two night event with perhaps a Soul On Sunday added if everything aligns. Is there any other Australian soul weekender in April that this may clash with?

Huge thanks to all who came along on Saturday and made it an excellent night, it's so good to see so many there having a good time. Thank you all for your support of our night, without it we wouldn't be celebrating 19 years which is an amazing achievement for a niche night like ours.
Thank you to all the DJ's Ainsley, Steve, John and Howard for playing some brilliant records and keeping the floor busy for most of the night. Thanks to our wonderful hosts the Polish Club for all they do to facilitate our night and keep us hydrated throughout.
Final thanks to all who helped with the tiresome pack down and load out, your help was greatly appreciated.

Here's some happy news to blow away the COVID blues. Soul on Sunday is back next week April 11th and due to Sub Rosa having the fantastic courtyard area dancing & standing consumption of alcohol is permitted. Check out the fantastic lineup of DJ's it's going to be a great laid back day of soul, funk, crossover, disco, house, reggae & ska from 2pm till 9pm. Get your tickets here www.subrosa.club/sos

I ran a night last Saturday and this is how the room would be setup for Soul In The City.

Exciting news for our nights, we will be moving to the larger downstairs room at the Polish Club. This room has a bigger dance floor, bigger bar and will give us more room to spread out. It has its own PA which has great sound and means less work for us organisers as all we have to bring are turntables and lights (Now that’s a win!) I’ll be posting the event page soon, please bear in mind that this will be a ticketed event to allow us to control the numbers, I will post details in the next few weeks.

Soul in the City is a Northern Soul club that has been running for 14 years with events every 3 months at the Polish Club in Brisbane. We play a range of soul music including Northern Soul, Modern Soul and Motown, all of our music is played from vinyl 45’s. Anyone who has a love of soul, Motown and dancing will enjoy our friendly atmosphere. All newcomers are encouraged to attend and will be made to feel welcome.
