"🎨 Silent Auction Highlight: Datsun Tran Original Artwork 🎨

We’re thrilled to announce that acclaimed Australian contemporary artist (and proud Waldorf parent) Datsun Tran has donated an incredible oil-on-board piece, “The Struggle”, for this year’s Spring Fair Silent Auction.

Datsun Tran is an Australian multidisciplinary artist. His work primarily features the natural world, though it is about us, the human story. His work has explored themes of conflict and utopia, childhood and the relationship between different cultures. The subject matter is often filtered through the lens of what we have in common, rather than what separates us.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to secure an original artwork while supporting the Mount Barker Waldorf community as we rebuild.

Class 6 spent five days exploring the wild beauty of Kangaroo Island from towering cliffs and glittering caves to vast sand dunes, Remarkable Rocks, and seal-filled shores.

Each day of our outdoor learning brought new discoveries, wildlife encounters, and unforgettable adventures. A huge thank you to our staff for guiding the journey and to our wonderful parent helpers.

Recently our Class 8–10 Japanese students experienced the Way of Tea (Chadō) in a workshop with tea ceremony instructor Eriko.

They learnt the history, philosophy, and mindful practices of Chadō—bowing, showing gratitude, and turning the tea bowl with care. A calm and beautiful glimpse into Japanese culture.

With gratitude to Eriko for sharing this art of respect and mindfulness.

Banksia Rose's Bush Kindy term finished last Friday. 🌿

Over 10 weeks the children have met challenges, supported each other, and grown through play in nature. One favourite memory: their morning chain, helping one another (and the teacher!) up the hill

✨ In Class 2, the knitting needles have been busy bringing gnomes and rainbow balls to life!

🧶 In Class 1, after weaving their recorder bags, the children are now knitting little cats—each one full of character.

It’s a joy to see the pride in their faces as they complete their creations and carry them home. 🌈🐾✨

Melaleuca Spring Festival

Our community came together to welcome spring with butterflies, caterpillars, seed parcels, and (of course) a slice of delicious maypole cake.

The puppet play of Goldilocks and the Three Bears was a delight for all.

What a beautiful way to celebrate the turning of the seasons!

🌸✨ What a joyful way to welcome spring! ✨🌸
Our Spring Festival on Friday was such a beautiful expression of community, celebration, and the turning of the seasons. In Waldorf education, festivals are a way of marking the rhythm of the year, bringing us together in gratitude and joy as we honour nature’s cycles. 🌿☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us!
