After a long and hot summer we are BACK!
soon…

With the hot weather our cakes would have suffered a miserable death at the markets so we decided to take the summer off. Me being the forgetful woman I am, I forgot to post about the break.

We have a busy month planned for April but we are looking to be back at the Lawson park markets in May. We will only be doing one market every month in the future as our daughter is growing into a very BOLD little lady and mum is stressed. 🫠

We are booked out for bespoke orders for April but we still have spots for the following months.

Until May, we shall be enjoying our last month off. We wish you all a spectacular Easter with your precious loved ones.

The furthest out of town we will go is caerleon, bombira, broadhead road. Any further will be an extra $10 aswell as a later delivery from 5pm-7pm.

Unfortunately we’ve decided to cancel our stall at the twilight markets this Saturday, we are very behind in our prep and this heat is killing me.

We will be doing a bunch of treats for the farmers market next weekend as well as some milk cake and mini cheesecake deliveries on the 22nd of December.

We’ll post again next week with our market menu. 😊

I feel I need to leave a little note in regards to customer behaviour.

The majority of our customers are absolutely wonderful and this message is most definitely not a stab at anyone.

Over the past 2 years we have rarely dealt with rude customers nor do we even know how to deal with them.

However we have had a few people over the years who have lacked respect when attempting to make a purchase or when a purchase has been declined.

Now, I rarely deal with confrontation and i honestly don’t know how to deal with it, most of the time I ignore it but in business it’s difficult. Should I be professional and have the “customer is always right attitude” while allowing this behaviour and rewarding it (with sweets ofcoarse) or should I just ignore it, possibly threatening my reputation as a business owner.
No matter how I choose to deal with these situations I always feel like crap afterwards.

Here’s the new deal in my business.

We most definitely CAN refuse service to those who are rude etc. We will also no longer take in person or mobile orders to any of those who speak to us in an aggressive manner or message in such manners. Your name will be put in our new little book of customers we just don’t wish to serve.

I started this business to bring joy into peoples lives, to stay home with my daughter and to create a life that is my own. A life that is positive, financially sufficient enough for us to live in joy and a life surrounded by people who love good food.

I will not allow negative people to burst our gorgeous little bubble. I will no longer feel like crap for ignoring negative customers. Business owners and staff do not deserve to be treated like 💩.

Anyway, enough of that. I want to focus more on the positive rather than the negative. So Thankyou very much to all of you beautiful people who do treat us with respect and kindness when making a purchase or enquiry. Your kindness makes my job worth doing!

Definitely not something I want to be dealing with on a Sunday after a massive week but boundaries in business must be set.
