Feeling pretty excited being featured in Orange City Life this week, they might have spelt my name wrong but everyone that knows me well knows how passionate I am about the environment and growing flowers (especially Australian and African natives) with different foliage in a sustainable way.
I don’t use chemicals because wildlife and our health are more important, it takes a lot more effort in means of fences and eco friendly traps but it’s all worth it.
Imported flowers are usually sprayed with chemicals and are flown in aeroplanes to get here, so more handling means the blooms take longer to get into your hands.
I am very happy to be able to stock my fresh bouquets , usually cutting before the sun is even up to bring in the freshest blooms!
I do stock up on flowers at the Sydney flower markets when flowers are few and far as orders still need to be met, asking and learning which stands sell Australian flowers over imported ones, or are happy to tell you where they have come from.
I hope one day all flowers coming into Australia are labelled just like our fruit and vegetables so people can be more mindful where their blooms are coming from and make changes in which flowers they decide to purchase, theirs nothing wrong with wanting a flower outside of its normal season just like having a mango in winter but being more aware of the carbon footprint it took to get into yours hands might change your decision.

Floral Arrangement Workshop at the Orange Senior Village Hub where lots of ladies learnt tips and tricks on how to:
arrange cut florals and foliage,
flex a rose,
how different textures and heights add depth and interest.
A grazing platter was also provided for sweet and savoury snacking while creating.
A-lot of the ladies said they couldn’t arrange flowers but by the end everyone had a beautiful creation and a great big smile. 💕

Valentines Day 2024 -The red eucalyptus gum blossoms flowered unexpectedly earlier then any other year but that didn’t stop me from travelling to the markets to select red roses🌹 My hands might be sore but my heart is full, I’m so blessed to call this passion of mine a job. So much love was sent throughout Orange today- my favourite being the cutest high school sweet hearts that send each other Valentines flowers every year for three years through me and counting 💕 I hope everyone felt the love today 💕

SOLD - before I even had a chance to put on the website ! Don’t worry I’m busy making more! These forever wreaths are unlike anything you will ever find in a store- with real pine cones and giant gumnuts teamed with high quality conifer branches and berries individually wired onto a local grape vine base that was hand weaved into a circle.

Christmas is fast approaching and this is the year for a wreath to be made by your very own hands, fresh conifer, eucalyptus, giant gum nuts, pine cones and flowers that dry well will be supplied along with a real grapevine wreath base, this workshop will be guided by myself, teaching you tips for proper wiring techniques and how to choose the best foliage and materials for a long lasting wreath, so you can enjoy the whole month of December. Lots of posies in vases are quite popular this week, the perfect way to send a loved one, especially perfect as the vase is filled wth water so it’s great for hospitals, nursing homes or people that you don’t know will be home for peace of mind that those beautiful fresh blooms with have the full longevity.
