It’s hard to put the last two weeks into words, but I want to be honest about where I’m at.
Yesterday we got through our last wedding before the Easter break… and we walked in the door at 1am. That’s 3 weddings, and an engagement/surprise wedding we rebuilt in the 10 days since the break in. I’m proud we made it to the finish line, but I won’t sugarcoat it. These have been two of the most difficult weeks I’ve faced since starting Wedfest 5.5 years ago.
Mentally, it’s been a lot. I’ve hit the lowest low I’ve ever hit in my life, and there were moments I genuinely didn’t think I could keep going. Rick has had to physically pick me up off the ground and get me moving again, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly explain how much that means to me.
I also need to say a massive thank you to Rhi, and to all of my industry friends who stepped in, answered my frantic messages, helped me problem-solve, and helped me pull everything together for the weddings over the last two weeks. The behind-the-scenes support in this industry is something I’ll never take for granted.
Today, we also took a really well-deserved break for our Rylee girl. We did birthday lunch with family and a visit to the Easter Bunny. Then we came home and got straight back into it, making all of the Easter Bunny Boxes ready for collection tomorrow.
For anyone waiting on Easter Bunny Box collection info, you will get the address tomorrow morning. Given the circumstances, collection will be from my home and anytime is fine. We will be home all day and they are all ready to go.
Now comes the next part, and honestly it feels even harder. Cleaning up the mess that’s been made in the warehouse, working out what’s salvageable and what isn’t, and figuring out the next steps for the business.
And to anyone else who’s in a hard season right now, you’re not alone. 🫶
