DV SnapShots is a series of professional conferences and seminars that bring people together to educate, inform and raise awareness of domestic and family violence in South Australia - The framework is an innovative model to facilitate and achieve large scale social change by collective impact

Our ethos is “It is everybody’s responsibility – be part of the change!”, therefore we do not target one

specific industry or Government sector

DV SnapShots is a structured but disciplined approach to bringing cross-sector organisations together to focus on a common agenda that result in long lasting change.

Always good to get a reminder of how to safely diffuse even if just for a moment.

I remember the power of this when people did it when I being abused in public.

After a rough sleepless night this is just the circuit breaker I need for a couple of hours this morning at Innovation House Mawson Lakes.

VIolence inflicted on s*x workers IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Violence is violence as Rotary Adelaide and counterparts stood up last saturday with Rotary says No To Domestic Violence Walk.

As I’ve been talking to people, survivors, police, SafeWork collegues, DV Organisations and have heard i heartbreaking stories of bashed up faces, rapes and so much more.

I TOOK THE CHALLENGE TO STEP OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE TO DISCUSS THIS TOPIC!

South Australian politicians need to make a stand and decide either way on this upcoming bill.

Remaining status quo is not acceptable!

A vote against the Nordic Model MUST MEAN support for the full decriminalisation model NOT A METHOD for keeping this topic out of the parliament as it’s just too hard. This is why our state has remained in limbo with many women, men and LGBTQI in the industry living in abuse.

Please open your eyes and make a
decision one way or the other.

Read this recent non-bias Advertiser article to make a decision on your stance.

NO MORE VIOLENCE!

Great news as I’m always being asked about probono services for women leaving DV. So vital as we often leave with nothing because there is no time to gather belongings if you are fleeing!!!

Vulnerable South Australian women, including those experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violence, will benefit from a major increase in funding for the state’s legal assistance sector.

The programs will increase the availability of dedicated legal assistance services across the state, including to regional and remote communities.

The $9.8 million from the Commonwealth will also be targeted towards specialist legal assistance programs which address family and domestic violence matters, including expanding services that help women to apply for Intervention Orders, and partnering with local hospitals to increase awareness of legal supports for women experiencing family and domestic violence.

Only one in five people arrested for acts of domestic violence have convictions recorded against their names – while victims forever carry the consequences of their brutality.

Women in abusive situations turn to Google search results for help but rarely do they get the resources they need. Writer and feminist Liz Plank noted that Google fails to provide adequate support to the millions of survivors turning to their search engine--but when she typed “how to control your woman,” Google gave "a litany of articles instructing a male reader on how to psychologically abuse his intimate partner."
