Appreciation post!
As a proud little sole trader, I do absolutely everything in my power to provide the best and most reliable service at all times. Guilty admission - I also find asking for help a bit tricky sometimes (though it’s something I’m consciously working on)!
But very, very occasionally, all the planning in the world just isn’t enough.
Yesterday as I pulled into the driveway of my first party host’s home, the clutch failed in my car. It had just been serviced. And I only had a 30 minute gap between this party and the next. Eek!
Long story short, my partner stepped in and saved the day (and both of my reptile/face paint parties!) - booking a tow truck through my insurance while I performed the first party; then picking up me, my reptiles, face paints and entire reptile display to take us to the next party. What a keeper, right?! I am eternally grateful!
And I am also SO grateful to the lovely hosts of both parties - the first for accepting both my hogging of their entire driveway as I rushed to reverse my failing car off the road, and my hurried calls and texts while setting up with the utmost kindness, understanding and patience (not to mention the gorgeously behaved and knowledgeable kids!); and the second for not batting an eye at the unmarked car and extra person I arrived and left with (my lovely partner), and all of the parties’ attending parents for being so extra helpful with the many mega excited kids, so I was able to wholly focus on giving my best reptile show and face painting, with minimal crowd control on the side ❤️
And of course, these are just examples from yesterday. I may not always get the chance to say it - but every single smile, kind gesture, little compliment, or excited outburst of reptile knowledge that I experience in life makes my heart sing every time. I’m so incredibly grateful: both to the people in my personal, and in my work life!
