✨ B R E A T H E ✨
I've mentioned the importance of self care before and today, more than ever, I need to remind myself of the need to take a break and just breathe.
Shout out to my fellow small business owners doing it solo, hustling hard, living your best life. We know this life isn't easy and it'll all be worth it in the end, but remember that you, your body, your health, will always come first.
As we get into the silly season, let's all remember to take a breather. Let's take a step back and give your soul what it needs. Schedule in your next break, your next day off, order that grazing box, pick that movie, settle in the tub, read that book. Treat yourself and your body for getting you this far and get her primed and ready for the next step in the journey.
You've got this 🥰
We’ve all heard it - “X wants me to invite y to the wedding because z but I don’t really know/like y, what do I do?”
Whatever the f*ck you want.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, you may forget that it is your wedding and the people invited to celebrate with you should be the people you want to celebrate with.
If someone on the potential guest list doesn’t bring you joy, then Marie Kondo them off the list because it’s your happiness that matters.
Don’t want to deal with the tension of not inviting everyone? I’ll help you elope and we can tell them all later 😬
I’m giving Reels a red hot go on Instagram so if you’re not already following, please give @wanderevents a follow 🥰
Vino Boomerang
When it comes to celebrations, we all know that drinks play a large part. But the question is, what should you serve, and how much of it?
🍹 Non-alcoholic
While the assumption is that most guests will enjoy a boozy drink, let’s not leave the non-alco options as an afterthought. And let's make them fun! Speak to your venue about throwing together a fun punch or even add some mocktails to the menu. Fire engines aren’t just for kids 🚒
🍾 Bubbles
The drink of choice for special occasions be it sparkling or champers. Either way, let that fizz guide you to the dance floor.
🍷 Wine
Again, the simple choice. Stick to one red and one white. My personal recommendation – a local Sauv Blanc and a Cab Sauv. We are spoilt for choice in WA and local drops will be familiar and you can even hit up their cellar doors for a taste test.
🍺 Beer
Again, another simple choice! I would go with at least 2 varieties – a regular strength and a mid-strength choice. Lighter beers will be more popular so unless you know your crowd would enjoy it, leave the stouts for another occasion. If you think ciders will be well received, toss that in there too!
🥃 Spirits
Definitely more expensive but if you have a tradition (I worked a wedding where shots of Bailey’s were served for toasts), then definitely go for it! Often, spirits aren’t covered by drinks packages so guests may have the option to purchase mixed drinks at the bar. If cocktails are more your style, definitely have a chat with your venue about designing one or two just for you.
🤔 So how much?
The consensus is for one drink per person per hour. Between the heavier drinkers and the light drinkers, this should average out. Personally, I go with two standard drinks for the first hour, plus one for each subsequent hour, but it will all depend on your crowd.
Are they heavy drinkers? Afternoon or weekday wedding? Summer or winter? Your best choice will be to find a supplier who accepts returns of unop
