Gathering Spots Enables NDIS participants to combat loneliness on their terms. A gathering of people who want to have fun in a life that makes it hard to socialize.

Gathering Spots is a concept created by an NDIS participant who kept asking "How can I meet people?", "Why am I so alone?", & "What is my purpose?". The Aim of Gathering Spots is to create a safe environment where "NDIS participants, carers and support workers" (Patrons) can go to meet others within the NDIS that they would not otherwise be able to meet. Initially, Gathering Spots is looking for f

unding for the first Gathering Spot Event and raffle. The path is to eventually create a viable NFP business structure for 1 year and approach the NDIA/NDIS to incorporate Gathering Spots Events into participants plans. Imagine an avenue where Patrons finally have choices of somewhere to go, someone to meet with to combat their form of loneliness; an avenue to create meaningful contacts and enjoy life together. Whether you need to feel like a part of your community; that you need to find a friend; or that you feel the need for romance to blossom... There should be a Gathering Spot for every need, a light in every distance for the fight against loneliness and the cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that come with it. I imagine there are plenty of people who have at least in some part, an empty, lonely life. Let's fix that.

Spring is nearly here and that means it is time for another wheeliegoodperth catch up for people with disabilities.

Registering as a not-for-profit company aiming to fill a gap in the NDIS.

AIM:
To combat loneliness within NDIS participants, carers and support workers.

PROBLEM:
Loneliness... There are 3 forms.
Spousal / Significant other companionship,
Family / Friends fun,
Community awareness and acceptance.

SOLUTION:
Planning Events / Functions, Hiring Venues to help NDIS participants, their carers and support workers to;
Find Love,
Make Meaningful Connections,
Discover the heart of their community & that of the greater metro,
as per their desire.

Such as, but not limited to;

Beach Picnics, Indoor Skydiving, Bowling, Putt Putt Golf; and/or
Luncheons with various community groups, food help, mens sheds, arts and crafts; and/or

Romantic Dinners, Movie Nights, Nature Walks, Weekend Retreats.
These "Gathering Spots" are for all NDIS participants, carers and support workers, regardless of their provider company, & will be in various locations around Perth, Peel, Mandurah regions to expand our participants chances of combating loneliness & create meaningful connections as per their lifestyle, interests & goals.

Imagine an avenue where Patrons finally have choices of somewhere to go, someone to meet with to combat their form of loneliness; an avenue to create meaningful contacts and enjoy life together.

Whether you need to feel like a part of your community; that you need to find a friend; or that you feel the need for romance to blossom... There should be a Gathering Spot for every need, a light in every distance for the fight against loneliness and the cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that come with it.

I imagine there are plenty of people who have at least in some part, an empty, lonely life.

G'day, and welcome to the Gathering Spots Page.
This is still in concept and creation stage, from an NDIS participant with Bi-polar, BPD and PTSD; so please bear with us as we slowly "flesh-out" this page, add a discord and figure out website creation.
Our aim is to combat loneliness within the NDIS; Participants, carers and support workers alike.
We endeavour to be up and running with one major venue under our belt by the end of the 2023/24 financial year.
