My One True Love …
MUSIC …
I grew up in a family of musical proportions, my father being a well known and highly sought after sound engineer, music was something that was on in the house.. we hardly watched tv when I was younger.
My Mum being a lover of music, arts, and creative pursuits would start whole family singalongs to Carol King, Queen, Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, and we all had our favourites for long family car rides !!
My father being a self taught man for a lot of his wealth of knowledge taught me to mix sound as soon as I could comprehend music & how to isolate various samples and layers.
One of my greatest memories and it’s what shaped this album being the answer to the hardest question for a music lover “what album would you take with you to a deserted island” … mine is Floyd The Wall, as my dad taught me with this album and the song “Goodbye Blue Sky” amongst others how to identify, and isolate the most minuscule sounds and samples.
He taught me not only sound tec, but also taught me electronics and oversaw me building his mixing console when I was 8 years old.
I was the first born of the 5 siblings so was always the kid who was at all the parties, gigs, events & of course after parties with some amazing memories I have of famous, and inspiring artists and musicians growing up.
Everyone in my family either sings, plays an instrument, or/and does something in the music industry !!!
Fast forward through my life and you’d have seen me part of various festivals in the board of committees, or calling in favours for people for shows, events, and artists, working in venues across multiple roles, supporting amazing people doing amazing things in the industry, sorting sponsors for events, creating curated events for business/brands, hosting events, coordinating gigs, concerts, festivals, making magic for upcoming bands/musos, volunteering time for passion projects of others !!!
Music, My First TRUE LOVE 💚
