One of my fave seating charts to date! 🩷

Guests at Chantelle and Pete’s wedding were delighted to discover their very own custom illustration by the incredibly talented , ready to guide them to their seats ☺️

Not only did this make for SUCH a memorable surprise, but also a gift for guests to take home at the end of the night 🎀

As a cheeky little thank you, I also surprised this beautiful family with a framed custom portrait of their family, little book and fly swatter for their one year old 😂 (my daughter’s recommendation who is the same age)

I’m obsessed! 😍 Here’s a few tips if you are too 👇

1. Timing is everything 🥂 you want to build up the hype to your champagne tower, my fave time is upon your entry as a married couple 👌 Gives everyone a great chance to oooh and ahh over it during cocktail hour, but no crazy dance moves are in play yet ☺️

2. They totally aren’t something you want to be winging on the day. I highly recommend hiring one from a pro, with good quality glasses and ideally an attendant there to help pre fill the bottom tiers and make sure Aunty Brenda doesn’t knock it over while taking a photo on her iPad 😉

3. Placement is key, you need to make sure it won’t overflow onto an open surface, so having a purpose made stand if it’s hired or a tray is important ✨ You’ll also want to be aware of the wind, particularly if you plan on it being outdoors 🌴

4. You can pre fill the bottom tiers with some cheap stuff 😉 I won’t tell if you won’t and it means you won’t be standing there pouring forever waiting to get to your glass up the top 🎀

5. Champagne towers don’t have to be champagne, yep I said it. Limoncello towers, fairy floss cocktail towers, gin and tonic, Mountain Dew, whateeeeever floats your boat 💕💕

So, plan on having one at your wedding?!🍸

💎 Get your engagement ring professionally cleaned so that it’s super sparkly for photos, keep in mind this process can take a while as some stores send them away 🤷🏻‍♀️

💎 Consider the overall look when planning your jewellery, do you have bows in your styling - I’m LIVING for pearl bow earrings right now 🎀, do you have a super detailed dress? Paired back jewellery might be the way to go 💅

💎 Do you have any sentimental pieces you want to include?

💎 Switch it up, there’s aaaaalways time for a quick change up in between your ceremony and reception

What the heck do we do if something spills on your dress!?! 😅

I’m gonna start this one by saying, I’VE GOT YOU 🫶🏻

On my wedding day, a plate of pasta got dropped on the train of my dress, I s**t you not 😂 it was a total accident and these things happen, thank god it was a white sauce pasta, buuuuuut

If something hectic spills, like red wine 🍷 here’s the plan;

Step one, we blot 🧻
We grab something and start blotting, not wiping, even if we use my clothes, we soak up the excess.

Step two, we whisk away to a private space 😎
We then consult my comprehensive mini-mergency kit, where I have tested some of the best stain removers and home remedies and have them ready to go to remove the stain 🤓

Step three, we conceal 🪄🔮
Once the stain is removed, I have a number of ways to cover up anything that may still be visible, from chalk to talcum powder, no one will eeeever know

Step four, we glide back into your reception and celebrate one of the BEST days of your life 🥰

As a serial over planner, I’ve planned the heck out of basically any scenario that can pop up, and 99% of the time, it won’t pop up 🤞but if it does, I’m ready ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Remember in high school, before a big test and the teacher would always be like “make sure you have a good breakfast to get you through” WEDDINGS ARE SAME SAME (but a million times more fun 😂)

Now I get it, this probs seems like the last thing on your mind to organise in advance, but it will make the world of difference to how you and your besties feel on the day! 🥐

Think wholesome snacky snacks, something people can just help themselves to in between getting ready that isn’t a glass of champagne 😉

🥐 Ordering from a local bakery
🍉 Make a fruit salad in advance
🍇 Get individual grazing platters made up
🧁 Overnight oats - this is your moment! (Soz there’s no oats emoji)

Wedding favours, what are your plans? 🎁

So my Mum has always told me about the time she haaaad to have sugar coated almonds to hand out to her guests, even though she wasn’t into the idea, because my Nanna said it was a MUST 🙈

Now I’m a sucker for a present, always grab a mentos when I leave a restaurant and at my wedding gifted a small photo frame for people to put a memory from the day into 🫶🏻⚡️

Here’s my top three idea’s ❤️‍🔥

〰️ Gift the money you may have spent on them to a charity close to your heart

〰️ A sweet treat, people loveeeeeeeeeee (there aren’t enough ‘E’s) love a little sweet snacky they can enjoy on the way home

〰️ Do something digital, something different and unexpected, it could be a QR code that invites you to a secret get together or a sentimental note for each person, it doesn’t have to be a tangible “thing”

Or,

DW about doing them at all, strike that off your to do list and move onto the next thing, no problamos 👌🏻

Here’s our top tips on what you NEED to consider ❤️‍🔥

⚡️ Timing ⚡️

〰️ 20-30 mins all up, allowing for 4-5 people to speak for 3-5 mins, some a little longer if need be

〰️ Make sure people have been fed, BUT try to avoid speeches during food service … hangry / clinking cutlery / servers moving around = distraction

⚡️ Target ⚡️

〰️ What will each person bring to the speeches? Will their stories be different, their perspective geared towards one partner’s journey or are they just straight up hilarious 👌🏻

⚡️ Topics / Tone ⚡️

〰️ Consider the vibe you want to create, is it formal or informal, will the speakers deliver something appropriate to that?

〰️ Do you have any topics that are off limits *What happens in Vegas* kinda stuff 😅 Discuss it with your speakers, you can TOTALLY request a sneak peak of the speech too!

❤️‍🔥 YOUR Speech ❤️‍🔥

If you want to give a speech, do it. If you and your partner want to speak together, do that. Practice reading the speech out LOUD and consider adding cues for pauses, gestures and laughter, it will prevent you rushing through the speech and make sure it sounds super polisheddddd 💅

There’s no rules anymore about who has to speak OR that you have to even have speeches! You do you boo 👻 (Had to do one Halloween reference in there 😉)
