More and more MC requests coming through lately and here’s why:

🎤Your mate Mick who’s a comedian around his mates- might not be so funny in front of a crowd.
🎤He’s not got much of an idea what he’s doing and will likely miss all the important stuff.
🎤He really would rather be joining in with the rest of your mates drinking those beers on your bar tab than trying to keep respectable but he’s too polite.
🎤Or worse- he does join in and things get messy..
🎤 (Oh & I’m not afraid to tell Aunty Pat that her 5 minutes up and it’s time to hand over the mic to the next speaker - politely of course..)

Seriously though- my number one goal as your MC is to make sure everyone is having fun. Number 2 is taking the pressures off your loved ones so they can enjoy the celebration and 3 is that everything runs smooth as a baby’s bum 😜

Kit & Deano are true blue Disney fans. When I asked them to tell me how they imagined themselves in old age they talked about the epic library they were going to have. I’m not kidding that I did a little squeal of delight when I saw these cute-as enchanted roses stacked up on these old books for table centres.

I’m in the thick of meeting all the legends I’m marrying between now and Christmas and honestly it’s the bee’s knees.

I love everything about it. The stories, the laughter the cute glances you throw each other and even the cheeky spin and dips in the car park when you don’t realise I’m watching ( you know who you are 😉)

Often one or both members of the couples I get to hitch will tell me that they are worried they will get emotional on the day.

And honestly there’s nothing I adore more than a teary emotional vow.

But I’ll let you in on a little secret. Often the adrenaline absolutely takes over in those moments when you are walking down the aisle or are declaring your love to each other and you are not the babbling mess you think you’ll be.

There’s really something magic about being in a room where the good vibes are high and there’s so much love swirling around at you.

But if you do get a bit emosh I’ll do my best to make you giggle!

(And don’t worry! I’ll always have a tissue close by just in case)

I’m not sure I’ve ever met people more perfect for each other…I mean…
Matt likes to go fishing…… Allie likes to eat fish.
Allie goes a million miles an hour and Matt is one of the most chilled people you’ll ever meet.
Matt goes for the Cats…and well Allie loves animals.

There is so much that Allie and Matt have in common, that it’s actually a bit hard to imagine that there was ever a time when there was a Matt without Allie.

Oh hi 👋

This time 12 months ago I was sitting in the same chair as I am now dreaming up my little love folk business….

I’ve been a celebrant for a few years now (mainly just marrying friends) and have sung and planned weddings and events for yonks- but owning my own little business was always a pipe dream in the back of my mind.

It was almost 12 months ago when I finally bit the bullet and The Love Folk was born. And boy am I glad it was. I knew I was going to love it. But I didn’t realise I’d love it this much. I didn’t realise I’d fall in love with all the legends I’d get to marry. I didn’t realise all the beautiful celebrants and wedding vendors I’d soon call friends.

Who thinks I should run a competition for The Love Folk’s 1st birthday?

Mothers are sometimes forgotten in the old traditions that come with weddings.

Although it can be beautiful watching a proud fathers walking their daughter down the aisle or the Father-Daughter dance, I adore when couples find special ways to acknowledge the Mums in their life as part of their ceremony ( or buck tradition all together).

Harry & Juliet wanted to say thank you to their mums as part of their ceremony and surprised them by asking them to be their witnesses and sign their paperwork.

I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house.

“Jessika described to me that her heart was racing a million miles an hour at that first date. Simon’s cheeky smile and the way he looked at her like he was looking right into her sole captivated very inch of her. Not to mention his rough tattoo’s and don’t f**k with me exterior that still makes her feel weak at the knees today.

Simon also remembers Jessika’s striking beauty in that first meeting, but it was her kindness and how easy she made him feel that hooked him. He tells me there is nothing you can fault with her.”

Simon and Jessika are fun, laughter, kindness and a little bit of ‘wink-wink-nudge-nudge’-all wrapped up into one hell of a couple- and it was such a rad time making them officially official.

Ian and Michaella’s story starts all the way back to Darwin in 2018. Let me set the scene for you- it was hot, muggy day- because well they were in Darwin- and Ian was just casually walking down the street with his mate and they bumped into the absolute 10-out of 10 Michaella. “Who is she?” Ian said the minute they left - hooked from the minute he laid eyes on her.
