Dee would have wanted the show to go on. She knew I love doing what I do as it's more than entertaining, it's creating community.
Without Dee, I wouldn't know how to catch a ball (really)! I'll miss our chats, going out for iced chocolate and coffee, enjoying a boysenberry ice-cream on a hot summer day, staying up late to watch Wimbledon together, sipping on her soup on a cold winter's day...
But I'll remember her smile. Always being there for me if I ever needed to chat. Being a walking calendar (she could recall her two children's, five grandchildren's, and eight great grandchildren's names and birthdates) and thesaurus (she was unbeatable with an empty crossword and a pen).
Now, she's "back home" with her Mum and Dad. And, I know she's at peace.
I love you, Dee.

This is a wonderful example of being grateful for one's opportunities and giving a hand up instead of a hand out to give someone a similar go
"I'm a high school U.S. History teacher here in Kentucky. I wanted to take a moment to shout this out. I had honestly never seen anything like this happen...
One of my team members, a stellar A+ student, generously extended his 5 bonus points to anyone in need, anyone at all. He selflessly offered what rightfully belonged to him, his earned bonus, to any peer who might have been facing particularly tough challenges on the day of the test.
He didn’t care if he considered them a friend or if they were cool. It didn’t matter to him what situation had caused them to score lower. He just wanted to help, be kind, and commit a loving act.
I honored their request. The recipient was very thankful. The 5 points actually moved her from failing to passing.
This note gave me so much hope. Let us all be a little more like this young man!"
