Golden Roast Rockhampton and Gladstone are looking to expand their team before an extremely busy few months ahead. We are a mobile catering business. We do weddings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events, you name it we do it! It’s a great way to meet people and get out there and have a bit of fun! No experience required!! Teams (Couples, Friends, Sisters etc.) welcomed!

If you are successful with your application, you will start your role as a helper. As a helper you will get paid $215 per shift. However, once you have completed training as a cook you will be paid $235 per shift. This means on average you will be paid $34+ Super per hour. We expect high quality standards and great customer service from our staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn some great money with Christmas approaching (our busiest time of the year)!

As we are mobile caterers, you will get to work at some of Rockhampton’s best venues and see some amazing locations while cooking * BBQ'S * ROASTS * FINGER FOODS * for all kinds of events.

Before applying to this job please ensure the following:
- You are able/comfortable with loading items in and out of a van, physical labor.
- Comfortable with doing travel jobs up to 3 hours away from Rockhampton (good travel money on these jobs)
- You can always be on time and are motivated to do a great job.
- You can pay close attention to all the small details/really do the little things perfectly, as these things are what we are all about...
- You can work well in a team environment
- You are comfortable with customer service skills
- Can think well on your feet and have the ability to perform in stressful situations
- Driver’s license (Manual preferred but not necessary)

If you’re looking for some extra funds here and there without a hard weekly commitment, then hear us out!
We’re Golden Roast, a mobile catering company, catering Weddings, Birthdays, Corporate Events and anything else you can think of. We specialise in roast meat, with vegetables and salads and we show up to the event and cook everything onsite.
We’re currently seeking a Function Managers and assistant who is willing to do everything they can to make our client’s day the best it can be.
So what will your role include?
Driving to and from our base, unloading and packing the van, cleaning up the prep site.
Preparation of food, including chopping up salads, cooking vegetables, and roasting and carving meats.
Setting up our buffet, and watching over the buffet as guests move through and serve themselves food.
Depending on the amount of assistants required at the function, you may be needed to collect plates, knives and forks, and rinse them.
Here’s what we’re looking for from you:
Motivated with a positive attitude. We want you to take pride in your food, in making the buffet look beautiful and the food taste great.
Committed and punctual. While our work is very casual, we need someone who will work when needed. This may be every weekend for a month, or it may be twice in the span of two months. Your workload depends on ours, so we aren’t able to guarantee hours. We’ll always try and keep you in the loop and aim to give our team members at least one weeks’ notice. When you get the call for work, we ask you to commit if you can, and show up on time for a bangin’ function!
Ability to work under pressure and follow guidelines. Our functions vary – One weekend you may have an easy one, the next might be a bit of everything. We need someone who will produce high quality food under our health and safety guidelines.
Confidence in carving meat is necessary.
A manual licence will be highly regarded.
This is a great way to make some extra cash on the side of your other job, as we don’t take away every single weekend from you!

From the 25th of June 2021, the Queensland Government has announced a relaxing of restrictions for self-service buffets. We are THRILLED! Self-service buffets are our pride and joy, serving up lots of hearty food that give your guests the power to decide what they want to eat. 👍

We have been blessed with a busy start to 2021 as we continue to move out of the struggles that COVID impacted so many with. We are ready for a fantastic end to 2021 and we would love you to be apart of it. We have lots of dates booked out already so if you're considering catering for any event (those Christmas parties will be here sooner than we know it!), please give us a call or send us an email to check availability before its too late!
