Not your ordinary kale! 💕 I do love the old-fashioned heirloom varieties of flowers but there is much to be said for the efforts of plant breeders. I mean, making a kale look this pretty?!… that’s an accomplishment!
These are a great cut flower that will reward you with at least 10 days vase life when bought fresh but a good tip is to change the water every day or two as you may notice a slight ‘cabbage-y’ smell if they are left to sit too long in the same water. This really is key to having ANY flowers last longer though - treat them well and you will be rewarded!

There are so many different types of Celosia but I think this would have to be my fave, the appropriately named ‘Flamingo Feather’. Absolutely stoked with the quality of this particular crop too! I’m putting it down to the pea straw from 👌 Thanks Pen and Dale for keeping us supplied with the good stuff!

The bees love it as much as I do!
With Autumn Joy I prefer to hold back on the harvesting until it reaches this stage of gorgeous pinks - like clouds at sunset.
Just as this variety is finishing, Matrona starts to flush on beautiful tall, dark purple stems.
Sedum is great for cutting but its form and colour can also be used to wonderful effect in the home garden. If you haven’t already, get some sedum in your life today! And of course the bees will thank you for it too 🐝🥰

It’s the end of the day and as I’ve declared before, it’s my absolute favourite time to be working in the patch. But this evening, I have sat myself down at the picnic table with the intention to just be still and drink it all in. Strangely enough, when I do this it’s a struggle - like my mind can not compute that this is really real. Surely I’m dreaming! There’s weeds in places I’d rather they weren’t, some of my heat-loving annuals are blooming way too short, the rabbits…oh my god, don’t get me started on the rabbits! But amongst all of that there is magic in this beautiful mess. It’s a moment in my short blip of a life that I will be forever grateful for. I am watching emus on the hill, the sun setting through the trees and eating cheese and crackers with home-grown fermented zucchini. If I’m not here tomorrow, it’s because my heart has burst

‘Zantedeschia elliottiana’ is a unique beauty lasting 2 weeks or more in the vase! We have a few different colours here but most are this deep purply-burgundy colour. Lucky, because it seems to be everyone’s favourite!

She’s a dynamo in the patch AND in the studio!
Romy is my buddy who recently travelled across the country to come join me at Left Field for this fun-filled flower farming adventure. It’s a game-changer having a partner in crime/flowers! We are already kicking so many goals and it’s so exciting to finally see this business becoming what I always envisioned but just couldn’t achieve on my own. And I couldn’t imagine a better person to be doing this with. Farming with a friend is a lot more fun than going it alone!
This pic of the elusive Romy was taken a couple years ago, when she first came here on a working holiday. The upside of lockdowns for me, was that her stay ended up being longer than planned! Eventually though, she decided to head back over east. I was sad to see her go but folks…. persistent nagging has paid off and now she’s returned for good! 🥳
Jumping on board with the business, she’s dipping her toes into more areas than previously and after only a few guided lessons she’s already knocking it outta the park in a solo bouquet-making sesh 👊🤩 How pretty are these bouquets?!! What a great day yesterday at the Witchcliffe Vintage Fair! We don’t do markets often but I love them for the fact we get to meet our fellow flower lovers face to face! Thanks for swinging by, saying hello and showing your support 🙏☺️
Personally, I think this was our prettiest stall yet! So happy with our new vintage print gift cards and vases made from up-cycled wine bottles (very region appropriate 😜). And I must give a long overdue shout-out to the talented Sarah Scheltema of for the beautifully crafted wooden sign - I just love it ❤️

It’s that time of year again - when the magical Witchcliffe Vintage Fair rolls around! This Saturday the 5th November from 9am we’ll be there with fresh-picked beauty from the patch 🌷💖
The Fair is in it 10th year now! Come along and help us celebrate 🥳 Entry is by gold coin donation which goes to our wonderful local cancer support group River Angels.

Taking a couple weeks away from the farm, allowing some space to step back and look at the bigger picture. Sometimes that’s hard to do when you’re surrounded by a million jobs calling for your attention and the day-to-day of business!
I’ll be back on board with the regular weekly bouquets in the second week of August. In the meantime any emails and messages will be responded to…possibly not straight away though! 😉

I’m still here! Poor FB is fretting and reminding me on an almost daily basis that I “haven’t posted in a while” 😂 So before they cancel my accounts, here’s pics of some of my fave dahlias coming out of the patch right now… 1) Aitara Laverne 2) African Sunset 3) Candy
Nights are getting pretty cool now and combined with shorter days that means the dahlias won’t be around too much longer. Crossing fingers we can limp over the line to Mother’s Day!
I’ve started incorporating local proteas into the regular weekly bouquets. You can find these at Better Choice in Margaret River and Darnell’s General Store in Rosa Brook. Delivery and pick-up from the farm also available, just DM me 😉

Thank you so much for all the kind words and love sent after my last post about saying goodbye to my little Lilly dog. It was genuinely comforting to read your comments and know others empathised. Lilly is now resting peacefully in a spot that has the best sunsets, under a beautiful magnolia and of course along with lots of her all-time favourite food - tomatoes 🍅❤️🍅
After a couple days of quiet time, I’ve been back in the patch today. Bouquets of fresh picked flowers have just been restocked at Better Choice in Margaret River in time for the weekend 💐
Meanwhile, please enjoy the cuteness of this little native blue-banded bee, having a snooze on the verbena at the end of a big day ☺️

Bit of a personal one… wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to share here but wanted to explain why emails, phone calls and text messages may not be responded to right away over the next day or 2. Today I am saying goodbye to my little companion of 17 years. Lil has been my sidekick on many adventures, made me laugh often, saved me from the depths of despair on more than one occasion and bought so much love and joy to my life. For the most part it’s just been the two of us, so her presence is going to be missed enormously. I’m gonna need a bit of time out here guys - thanks in advance for your patience 🙏💔
