Steph and Mitch truly have a “finding love when you least expect it” story. But, fast forward to the 06.09.2024 and these beautiful humans got to say “I do” with their nearest and dearest watching on (and their two gorgeous girls standing right by their side)
🫶🏻 Pretty. Darn. Special.
Steph and Mitch’s ceremony was incredibly meaningful. We all shared laughs, we all shed tears… and most of all, it was clear to every single person in the room that these two finding their way to each other was the way it was always meant to be. Fate. 🤍

As the 2024 spring/summer wedding season approaches, I thought I would re-introduce myself for anyone new to my page ☺️

Firstly, welcome 👋🏼 I’m Alex.
Secondly, if this car selfie is any indication, I clearly do not have a side hustle in wedding photography (I’ll leave that to the professionals).

A few things about me:
1. I am a proud wife and mummy 🩷
2. I am a serious animal lover (and an ex Vet-Nurse) so naturally I get very excited when my couples include pets in their ceremonies 🐶
3. Most recently I have worked in HR; so sensitive conversations and tricky dynamics are my jam. Worried about any weird and wonderful family issues impacting your day- No stress, I’ve got your back and am equipped to handle it.
4. Anyone who knows me knows that I love a chat! I love connecting with my couples and (professional stuff aside) I pride myself on also building genuine friendships with my clients 🤍
5. Vibe check: This is your day. You are the star of the show. I will absolutely crack jokes, share your story in a meaningful way and slip in some of the mushy stuff too. BUT, I am not here to make a performance out of your ceremony (which, if it’s your thing is super cool btw! I’m just probably not the girl for you 🤍). My ceremony style is joyful, warm and relaxed 🫶🏻
6. I am always keen for you to change it up and do things your way! Feel cringey doing vows- Scrap them! Want your Nanna to be your flower girl- Yes! Your dad as your witness- Sooo nice! Your favourite metal song as your entrance music- Do it! In the end this is your day, there are no rules (apart from the legal bits of course!) and I always encourage my clients to step away from the norm and do things that make their ceremony authentic 🥰
7. Lastly, I limit my bookings to ensure my clients get unlimited access to me, fast responses and feel supported throughout their planning 🤍 Celebrancy is something I do for joy, it’s not just a transaction.

I am feeling super lucky that between now and December I have a heap of ceremonies to share with you all.. new couples, new stories and so many happy memories to make ✨

Over the weekend, Kavindi and Sam did things their way 🫶🏻
They opted out of extravagant wedding plans and large guest lists and instead got hitched in a sweet little legal-only ceremony with four of their closest friends watching on.
After saying I-do and exchanging rings they spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful Wisteria Gardens and making the most of its endless photo opportunities 📸
It’s ceremonies like these that work as a reminder that there really are no rules when it comes to your big day. If you walk away having married your person in the way that feels authentically you, it’s guaranteed to be one of the best days of your life 🫶🏻

These are the hands of your best friend. The person who lives you wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

These are the hands that will comfort you like no other, they will hold you in times of sadness and in joy, and wipe tears from your eyes in times of happiness and grief.

As you grow old, these are the hands that even wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours with the same love and commitment as they do today 🫶🏻

Let’s talk about “Legal only ceremonies” 💍

Recently this has been a super popular option with my clients… why..?

1. It’s cheaper- most celebrants (like myself) offer a discounted rate for legal-only ceremony options. This is because a legal ceremony is basic —> legal wording only, no lengthy scripts, no guests (apart from your witnesses), no microphone, no worries.

2. It is simple, stress free, and allows you to make a commitment to your person intimately without the need for a large guest list.

3. It allows you to mix things up like Mon and Antonio did. I performed their legal ceremony in private with their witnesses, and then one of their close friends created a personalized non-legal ceremony which was performed in front of their guests.

I absolutely LOVE that Mon and Antonio did things their way. Having a close friend perform the non-legal components of their ceremony is such a special and personal touch, and one I encourage my clients to do if it feels right for them.

A Mother’s Day post to celebrate all the mums and grandmothers in our lives 🤍

A little throwback to my own wedding with the most beautiful “Flower Granny” Betty 🌼

For anyone considering including their parents or grandparents in their ceremony, I can say from experience that I strongly recommend it 🫶🏻

It not only allows someone so special to be a part of your ceremony, but as a bonus you have all of these wonderful memories to cherish and look back on.

Next time you are scrolling through couples wedding pics, ask yourselves something.. did their celebrant photobomb “The Kiss”!?

As a celebrant and a guest at many weddings, this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
One guarantee to all my couples is that you will not see my mug in any of those money shots 😉

The face of genuine happiness after being the lucky celebrant for one of your best friends 🤍
Nicole and I have known each other for (nearly) 30 years (which is strange because I could have sworn we were only 21 😉). I remember in primary school we would play weddings in the playground at lunchtime with her sister, her cousins and our friends. We have worked together, travelled together and been there for each other through many of the good and bad bits of life.
I’ve been lucky enough to witness her find her forever person, welcome her babies into the world, and build a wonderful life with her gorgeous family.

On the 2nd March this year, I had the pleasure of standing with Nicole and Justin as their celebrant, and witness them make their forever promises to one another 🫶🏻
Such a beautiful ceremony filled with so much love and laughter. A full-circle moment for me, and a truly special memory I will cherish 🤍

09.03.2024- Tanya & Tony 🫶🏻

There is something special about working with couples who are doing things for the second time around. A confidence, a calmness, and a surety that everything is happening right when it is supposed to.

This was exactly what Tanya and Tony exuded in our first meeting. They have both experienced incredible love and loss in their lifetimes, and with this has come the lesson that there is no point delaying happiness when things feel irrefutably right.

A true gift for me that I was able to be a part of their “second time lucky” 🤍

Rain, hail or shine we were getting these two married last Saturday! ☔️
There’s something special about marrying two people that have already experienced so much of life together. Leonie and Darren have built a wonderful life, welcomed their three gorgeous girls into the world, experienced laughs, loss and everything in between.. and after 20 years together it was still so obvious to me that they were completely in love with each other… That my friends, is what it’s all about 🤍
Marrying these two beautiful humans brought me so many warm and fuzzies and I wish them both (and their gorgeous family) all the happiness in the world 🤍

28.10.2023 - Georgina & Steve 🤍
A bit of background (and I’m not even sure if she remembers this.. but read on, I promise it gets interesting!)… 29 years ago, as a little (nearly) five year old on my very first day of kindergarten, and her twin sister Sarah took my hand and caught the bus home with me from school (my mum had come to pick me up but I insisted on joining in with the bigger kids).

13 years of school passes, + a few years of uni and I start my first animal industry job at the RSPCA, when lo and behold, George is working at the same shelter and we have the opportunity to reconnect as friends and colleagues🐱🐶

Fast forward another 10 years, with young families, new career paths and a few grey hairs —> and you guessed it! I get to be the lucky celebrant that gets to marry her and her person 👰🏽‍♀️ 🤵🏽

A full circle moment! 🫶🏻
George and Steve, thank you for trusting me to tell your story in a way that was uniquely you and for allowing me to be apart of your perfect day 💍

Needless to say this was a pretty darn special one for me 🤍

Well, Aaron played the long game.. AND WON!

His gentle pursuit of Rachael after an initial rejected dinner invitation all paid off when the two went out on a date and had an undeniable connection.

Fast forward to the 30th September 2023 and they are husband and wife; and (now legally) family along with beautiful Scarlett and fur-baby Honey 🐶

I really love intimate ceremonies for the simple fact that it’s all about the love of two people who just want to be married to one another 🤍
I love it even more when these people are family 🤍
I have had the pleasure of watching Steph and Mitch navigate the early stages of their relationship, have their babies, get engaged, and I have now had the pleasure of standing with them as they said “I do”.

Traditionally it is the role of the best man & maid of honour to co-sign the marriage certificate; but boy I love it when couples step away from the ‘norm’ and use this opportunity to include other special people in their life.

Marissa and Nathan asked their beautiful dads to take on this role, and it definitely added another level of meaning to their ceremony 🖊️ 🤍

Chloe & Bryce 🤍 After days of torrential flooding in the Hawkesbury, the universe delivered the most beautiful day for Chloe and Bryce (some might say a miracle, but I believe there may have been a higher power at play, ensuring their special day was safeguarded ✨).
