I was driving back from Smeaton early yesterday evening, feeling anxious about the police cars and ambulances screaming up the highway towards me. I had no idea what they were responding to.
Hearing the news later in the night of what actually occurred in Daylesford yesterday was shocking. I can not even imagine how challenging, tragic and confronting this is for everyone in this beautiful pocket of our region. So many people will be hurting from this. I think of the patrons and staff in the pub, the emergency service crews, the many people who would have been in that precinct of Daylesford and witnessed the horror that unfolded, and our friends who live and work there.❣️ Of course, most of all, I am thinking of the families directly impacted, who have lost their sons, daughters, parents, grandchildren, friends, neighbours, colleagues and more. Our thoughts are with you all.

My face hurts from laughing and talking so much! We had fun out and about on our Vintage Adventure. Started from Ballarat (Rocket and Belle), on to Avoca, then Moonambel (Two Vintage Ducks and Grape Farm Winery).
Finished up at Grainery Lane for desserts and cocktails…..
NOTE: although we have been promoting The High Tea Mistress regularly… don’t drive there! It has been closed down. Despite our booking and arrangements made well in advance, we had no idea they have just been shut down. Gone!
I had to think on my feet…. We were looking forward to desserts in the Peacock Parlour. So Grainery Lane was where we headed. We had a nice end to the day after all.
Devastating though… i put so much time and effort in to ensuring I operate with strong communication and professionalism …. and then have something as important as “hey we have had to shut the doors” not communicated to me at all. Grrrr….. I know loads of businesses are doing it tough . I get it. But just communicate!

I'm creating playlists for when my guests want some tunes while meandering through the countryside.
Such a mix of genres from that decade...hmmm... Cruisin' (Smokey Robinson) and Sexy Thing (Hot chocolate) came to mind straight away for me..... when thinking of Minx the Rolls Royce.... but also the likes of Bowie, Queen, Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Elton John, Roxy Music, ABBA, Wild Cherry (Play that funky music!) - and loads more!

According to our mechanic at UK Motors (specialising in Rolls Royce), "this is one of the very few Rolls Royces of this era that is truly original from back to front".
Did you know that the sculpture that adorns Rolls Royce bonnets is known as "the Spirit of Ecstasy", or "The Flying Lady".... or sometimes "Eleanor" (that's another story for another time)?
SILVRR is to reflect that Minx is a Silver Shadow, the colour is Silver Mink and the RR is for Rolls Royce. :)

A bit of work has been done on "Minx" since purchasing her via an online auction in late Feb 2022. I guess it was a bit risky, but thankfully all has worked out....making her a dream to drive, and a joy to travel in!
Tony at UK Motors in Melbourne is a specialist Rolls Royce mechanic. "Minx" spent a fair bit of time with Tony before coming home to Snake Valley.

Our adventure begins at Rocket & Belle in Ballarat, where nostalgia awaits.
From there, get ready to meander through picturesque countryside as we make our way to Avoca, where we'll fossick through more vintage treasures.
Next… we'll continue down the road, venturing a little further to reach Two Vintage Ducks at Grape Farm Winery in gorgeous Moonambel.
Here you'll discover a collection of charming vintage objects and have the opportunity to enjoy fab wines and a mouthwatering "grazing board" lunch, while lapping up the breathtaking vineyard view (there will be time to stock up on regional produce from here…and there’s plenty of boot space!).
Our adventure doesn't stop there! We'll make our way to character-filled Clunes, where the High Tea Mistress awaits to pamper our palates with even more deliciousness and bubbles in the Peacock Parlour! An hour of pure bliss before we bid farewell to Clunes and head back to Ballarat.

I bought this vintage picnic hamper at a garage sale in Learmonth more than a year ago. Love it! I take this on tour to serve delicious freshly baked cakes. I have quite a collection of silver goodies, thanks to my Mum - who had an eye and love for beautiful things. Bought some extra vintage cutlery today at fabulous Rocket and Belle in Ballarat.
No need to bring water bottles on tour, you can use our silver bottles- kept chilled in the eskie, alongside the bubbles 🥂

Finally made it out to Two Vintage Ducks and Grape Farm Winery in Moonambel today. Melita and Corryn go waaay back as close friends, who happen to share a passion for vintage wares, supporting regional producers and artisans, and of course - wine!
These fab women present a cosy friendly monthly pop up vintage shop called “two vintage ducks” which is part of Grape Farm Winery.
Oh, and did I mention the “ripper” view??!
