Red roses are the go to flower for Valentines Day, they are a symbol of love, passion and romance. But have you ever wondered why they are so popular?! Well it has a long history that actually dates back to Greek mythology. Some stories say that the first red rose grew from the ground where Aphrodite’s tears fell as she wept over the tragic death of her lover, Adonis. The rose appeared to symbolise their love. While this sure is a romantic story what we do know for sure is that roses have hardy stems, are long lasting, easy to transport and we personally think look absolutely gorgeous so it’s no wonder why they continue to be a Valentines favourite ❤️
