Hi everyone,
You will all be aware by now of the planned βVincent Aviation Australiaβ reunion early next month in Mooloolaba. Pete Sumner came up with the idea, and the Vincents, along with the Seays, have all helped to bring things together.
Plans for the weekend have firmed up. It would be great to see as many of you as possible, especially at the main event on Saturday night (4th May). At this stage it's looking like 60-80 people, with a good mix from across the years at VAA.
Please note - families are welcome to join for the weekend too, at all of the events. If you are planning to bring your kids and/or partners to the Saturday dinner and haven't let us know, please do so ASAP, as we need to confirm numbers to the Surf Club.
We hear that a number of you are booked into the Peninsular Apartments and it would be good to know who is staying there and your dates. At this stage those we know of are the Sumners (Peter & Lisa), the Vincents (Peter, Jill, Laura plus Tom & Tess), the Seays (Jeremy & Jess plus Charlotte and Tyler), Matthew Dietman + partner and George Claxton + partner.
The rough plan for the weekend is as follows:
Friday 3rd May
Meet for drinks at Taps Mooloolaba from 5pm onwards, buy your own food and drinks.
Saturday 4th May
Free day - the Eumundi Saturday Markets have been recommended as a great place to visit, or feel free to catch up in smaller groups with others who are visiting around Mooloolaba.
Pre-dinner drinks at the Peninsular Apartments pool area at 4pm - a chance to break the ice and say 'hi' - please BYO drinks, glasses and snacks.
Main event - dinner and drinks at The Surf Club Mooloolaba from 5pm onwards. Dedicated space reserved for the VAA group on the top floor, with cash bar and bistro. We will provide some platters to start, buy your own dinner and drinks. (If you are able to call in to the Club prior to this event, you can sign up to get a discount on drinks and food).
Sunday 5th May
VAA first annual surf swim event at 7am - hardy souls can enjoy the surf and the fact that there are no crocs!!!
Bacon & egg butty breakfast around the pool at Peninsular Apartments at 9am - Peter V is hosting a simple breakfast (ingredients from the Eumundi Market). Please bring your own drinks and plates/cutlery if required.
BBQ lunch at 12:30pm - Pete S is putting this on at his penthouse in the Peninsular Apartments, apartment # TBC. Please advise if you're attending this so he can plan for numbers.
