The final touches after a big day of setting up.
A lot goes into getting a wedding ceremony and reception in perfect shape for a celebration of L❤️ve.

Let's talk buttonholes, corsages, and other personal wedding florals.

The origins of the buttonhole or boutonniere can be traced back to ancient Greece, where fragrant stems of flowers and herbs were used to ward off any lurking evil spirits. 😈

These days, warding off evil spirits may not be as much the driving desire for this traditional accessory, as is the love of a floral tradition and the addition of flowers for those close to the couple who may not be carrying a bouquet!

It's a beautiful tradition and a lovely way to tie all the central wedding team together. However, as I often say, there are no rules, you do you.

If you're not fussed, then don't be afraid to opt out of button holes or why not create your own gesture to replace them.

A bit of advice, if you don't have a strong feeling against the inclusion of buttonholes and corsages, remember to ask Mum and Dad if they would like to wear one. I've witnessed many parents' joy at receiving their own special floral addition to their outfit. A symbol of their inclusion in the VIP of the wedding team.

I'm a fan of strong foliage as much as I am of the flowers. And those Cordyline..... with their pink stripes, hanging out there, just adding a little drama!

Guess what?! These are not peonies....they're tulips! This is a stunning example of how substitutions can be very successful when you can't have exactly what you want due to that little lady we call Mother Nature.
