SUMMER IS HERE 🌞

Summer symbolises self development, freedom and happiness. It’s a time for adventures! ✨

I just love that southern hemisphere summer coincides with a New Year. Combining self development and progression with a fresh start and new beginnings! It’s just so poetic🙌🏼

Although, I am returning to the UK for a month next week - so I’m gonna be all over the place with my seasons!

I’ve put aside some of my internal biz projects recently as things have been a little bizzay (not complainin’), so I’m very excited to use some of the January/Summer down time to finalise them. When I get back from UK Christmas of course ❄️ 🪩

Out of all the projects I work on, managing and organising events is by far my most favourite thing to do! The perfectionist in me LOVES the fast paced, high pressure moments because it’s always worth it in the end ❤️‍🔥

The ocean cures everything - fact! 🌊

It’s my favourite way to unwind, take a break + spark my creativity again. 🪩

The main reason being that I don’t have access to any kind of screen when I am in the water (duhh), so it truly forces me to be present and take my mind off work for a while. 💫

There are moments of being unproductive, procrastinating, having no idea of what content to create, writer’s block, lacking motivation and everything else that comes along with working for myself😵‍💫. BUT - I am thankful I have this as an escape! ❤️‍🔥

Summer and the Christmas period are very nearly here, which means EVENT SEASON!!! ✨✨

We all know how full on planning events can be - trying to organise invites, their dietary requirements, budgets, finding a location, chatting through all the nitty gritty with venues, organising run sheets and liaising with suppliers... it’s a never ending list!🤯

Organising and planning events is my jam, so let me take the reins while you forget all about it and get on with anything + everything else you would rather do. Simple! 🪩

I’m absolutely blown away with all the love + support within the small business owner world! ❤️‍🔥

Clients, VA’s, OBM’s, coaches, mentors - I feel so lucky to be part of such an incredible community. I haven’t physically met all of the people I work with, or the others I have connected with over the last 3 years, but it hasn’t had an impact on the friendships (personally and professionally) that have formed. 💥

The support, trust, encouragement, positivity, advice and authenticity from everyone I have crossed paths with has had such a positive influence on me and my business so far. It’s so clear that everyone just wants to help one another succeed! 💫

It feels so refreshing and invigorating to be part of this epic, dynamic virtual world 🔥🔥

Hello SPRING!! The start of my favourite season!! 🌼🪩

I just love what it represents…
Out with the old and in with the new (bit of this going on this week 🥲).
A clean slate.
Starting afresh! ✨

I’ve also got a few bits of spring cleaning desperately needed biz wise and most definitely at home. I’m gonna aim to have it all done by the end of the month 😅! Wish me luck!

☀️ Mornings are my absolute favourite part of the day! ☀️

I’ve always been an early riser and feel like I have missed out on a huge chunk of my day if I wake up past 6am. 🥲

I am definitely most productive in the mornings, and that is when I do my best work. 💪🏼

I tend to focus on the heavier and more in depth tasks for my clients in the am such as copy writing, research, briefing docs, doc creation, discovery calls etc, and then the afternoons tend to be spent getting back to emails, graphics, scheduling content, quotes and invoicing etc. 💫

My morning schedule looks a little like this:
🌼 5.30/6am wake up
🌼 6am walk Gordy 🐶 + coffee ☕️
🌼 7am exercise class
🌼 8am shower + breakkie
🌼 9am - emails, meetings + planning for the day/week
🌼 10am - Get stuck into that biz work work work!

Obviously each day is a little different, but I love being able to determine and plan my own schedule exactly how I like! It’s a dream. 🤍

Or a 🪩 Disco Call 🪩 as I like to call it!!

You may have seen discovery calls mentioned quite a lot in the Digital world. 📞

But do you actually know what it is?

A discovery call is the first step or the introduction between a service provider and a prospective new client! It’s a way to discover the client’s wants, needs, goals, pain points, vision. It’s a way for the client to share more about their business and its history.

And why is a 🪩 disco 🪩 call important?

Well - simple. It’s a good way of telling whether you’ll be a perfect match for each other! Do you align and have shared values and beliefs? Is there a vibe or a ✨ spark ✨ when you talk to each other? For me - this is ESSENTIAL with any client I work with! Sparks have to be flying to know that we are going to work well together.

How do you prepare for a disco call as a client?

Basically come prepared with a list of things you are ready to outsource or areas where you are needing support! Be yourself. Be vulnerable. Needing support as a business owner is totally normal! 🤍 Ask all the questions you can think of, and be honest about your ways of working and communication style. 🔈 That’s a big one for me, I like to know whether I can match your communication to keep things flowing! 💧

A little post to officially celebrate 3 whole years of VA Harry Jay! 🍾🪩 (albeit 2 weeks late because July has been BIZZAY).

Thanks to Sydney lockdown 2.0 and some encouraging words from a dear friend, I took a leap of faith into a world I knew almost nothing about and started my business. 👩🏻‍💻

And what an incredible world it is. ✨

Highlights from the last few years include:
❤️‍🔥 Working with a huge variety of people and clients.
❤️‍🔥 Having the flexibility to work from anywhere I like.
❤️‍🔥 Diversifying my offers and services.
❤️‍🔥 Gaining confidence in myself and my skill set.
❤️‍🔥 Learning new skills.
❤️‍🔥 Meeting and engaging with so many incredible people in the industry.
❤️‍🔥 Pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
❤️‍🔥 Choosing who I want to work with.

And best of all, every day is unique!

I have been lucky enough to work with over 30 different clients in the last 3 years, both project + retainer based, and I’ve had conversations + discovery calls with multiple others. 💫

I’m still learning, and I’m still growing 🪴.

Here’s to the next year. Can’t wait to see what it brings! 🤍
